Susie and I had a great time camping this past weekend. We decided on going on the last minute. We were going to catch Lee Roy Parnell on the way over but had the canoe in the
back of the truck and didnt want to take a chance in somebody stealing it. It was a beautiful
weekend, the fresh water fish just dont jump on the bait like saltwater fish do. WE are heading back to the coast this weekend.

Great pictures, John, and beautiful country there! Makes me so wistful...didn't get a chance to do any real camping this year - 1st time in a few decades. Might have to drag my gear out and head over to my buddies on the Mississippi. With the changing colors and the cool nights a big bonfire and sleeping under the stars would be heaven on earth! Thanks for sharing your pics!

I had stepped out of the camping scene for years and just started back camping the last few years and I have not regretted it. Its so surreal sitting around the fire at night, having all the Deer visiting your site begging for food. Its just now cooling down enough to enjoy camping even more. No flies, except the casual Yellow Jacket buzzing you a little. We cooked a big bag of shrimp after we got off the lake. Then a couple big ribeyes. Wow we were stuffed.
Slept like babies. Then got up and Pancakes eggs and sausage. then back to the lake. There is no better life..

Nice John. Got up to the cottage myself yesterday for some golf a little fishin'. Nothing beats a Brook Trout shore lunch and a couple of cold beers. Trees up here are turning and the weather was sunny and warm. Glad you got to enjoy it too!!
