I checked for Saturday night and was able to get 2 really great seats centered in Orch Row FF but no way can I drop $540 for them.

The venue is unbelievably beautiful:

Oh my, Jeanne!!! This is a beautiful place! Have you ever been to any shows there?

I don't blame you for balking at those tickets - I LOVE Van (and Bobby Blue Bland) but I refuse to go into that $200 ticket range for ANYBODY. But I would love to see a show in this place someday...

I haven't been there. Our own jodygirl brought the place to my attention just recently. She was saying it would almost be a sin to dim the lights for a show. We were wondering about an ABB show there. It's the same size as the Beacon and just up B-way a bit.....*grin* If the Beacon goes seatless in the orchestra after renovations, I'd vote for moving the run up to 175th Street!

I think the Van shows may be too overpriced. His shows normally sell out pretty quickly and I see that the presale started the end of August.

JFC and I saw Bobby Blue Bland last year in a little performing arts theatre on Long Island. He's getting up there in years but was still entertaining. He struggled a bit with some notes but it sure was nice to be in such a small setting for the show.

Peakin' at the United??? I'm in! (especially as opposed to a seatless Beacon - no thanks!)

(Just saw Van last winter or maybe the winter before and tix were nowhere near this expensive!)
