Anyone interested in listening to the show from September 23, 2 nights ago, it is already up and ready for download. Check it out here:

http://www.archive.org/details/Phil2007-09-23.flac

I've been listening for an hour or so. It sounds great. Musically of course, it's almost always good and then there is the "why does Phil still sing" argument. But for those interested in his new band, check it out.

Definitely!!! And the thing with Phil is he will pay forward his good fortune at beating this terrible disease and help raise awareness as well as contribute to research funding.

Will be seeing Phil in Santa Fe this Sunday night. Hope to see some folks up there. I'll be solo as I seem to be the only unold guy in my group.

Neil,

I may be there a may not be. I travel to South Dakota Monday morning so it will be quite a marathon if I make it. If I don't, enjoy the show. I figured you might like to hear how this is sounding

Look out of any window
any morning, any evening, any day
Maybe the sun is shining
birds are winging or
rain is falling from a heavy sky -
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
this is all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago
Walk out of any doorway
feel your way, feel your way
like the day before
Maybe you'll find direction
around some corner
where it's been waiting to meet you -
What do you want me to do,
to watch for you while you're sleeping?
Well please don't be surprised
when you find me dreaming too

Look into any eyes
you find by you, you can see
clear through to another day
I know it's been seen before
through other eyes on other days
while going home --
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
It's all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago

Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams
to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted
with words half spoken
and thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
to do for you to see you through
A a box of rain will ease the pain
and love will see you through

Just a box of rain -
wind and water -
Believe it if you need it,
if you don't just pass it on
Sun and shower -
Wind and rain -
in and out the window
like a moth before a flame

It's just a box of rain
I don't know who put it there
Believe it if you need it
or leave it if you dare
But it's just a box of rain
or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long long time to be gone
and a short time to be there

I caught the Greek show. It was just OK IMO. I love the deep, jammy, Phil and this band is a whole new direction. Very americana/country. Jackie Greene sings most songs, including several of his own. The show was enjoyable and tight, but just didn't stand out like previous shows. Larry Campbell & Jackie on guitars. They keep it pretty straight ahead with blue/country riffs. They did a Cumberland Blues at the Greek, where they both played telecasters and Barry Sless sat in on pedal steel. Very country. I'll be curious to see how this band develops. I loved that Hunter Mt show with Warren & Sco, but this is nothing like that, or PLQ.

Thanks for sharing this mulehead - finally got a chance to give it a listen (though not all the way through) and I thought Jackie Greene does a good job with Phil. The little bit I listened to sounded good.

Here is a video of Phil and Friends doing 'Loose Lucy' on 9-22-07. Not a great recording but the band sounds very good and Phil looks happy and healthy. Should be a great tour. I'll be catching one show at Nokia.

Sunday is at the Palo Soleri which holds about 2000 outside in an amphitheatre, very intimate, very cool venue. Not even sold out so I am hoping the laid back Sante Fefolk will just come out the night of the show and fill the place up, for the promoters sake at least.

Have never seen Larry Campbell but hear he is an excellent player.Seth it won't be PLQ but its Phil an hour up the road playing some of those tunes i was weaned on, I have to come out to see that.

67 and still rockin, god bless Phil Lesh!

Phil Lesh & Friends and the Conscious Alliance are proud to announce food drives during the upcoming shows in Colorado and New Mexico. All foods collected will go to benefit the Metro CareRing Family Assistance Center of Denver and Native American Reservations in the greater Santa Fe, New Mexico area. All patrons who donate 10 non-perishable food items will receive a limited edition Phil Lesh & Friends poster by famed rock artist, Richard Biffle.

There will be one poster for both Colorado shows - Denver's Fillmore Auditorium and Red Rocks- and one poster for the Paolo Soleri show in Santa Fe, NM.

Together, these posters form a 2-Panel masterpiece. Both posters will be available at each of the three shows for a donation of 20 food items.

I saw Soul Stew Revival there this June, saw the ABB there in 97. They have started up shows again there after a hiatus of a couple of years off. But major acts have played there like SRV,Santana,CSNY,etc. I think the hiatus was because there are new venues popping up at the Casinos, etc. Fanman Productions usually does the shows now at the Palo, I hope Phil sells out so he makes the money to keep things upand running for the next season.

The Lensic Theatre is also a venue that is great toseeshowsin Santa Fe, like 800 people and I'llbe catching The Subdudes there Oct 17

RedRocks,all going enjoy!
