I knnow in seasons past the fans of the show Weeds have shared our enjoyment of the show, but is there anyone else that thinks season 3 so far has been, well, lame? The writing seems to have taken a bit of a dive and it feels like they are reaching...they probably weren't helped by the fact that they practically wrote themselves into a corner with last seasons' cliffhanger.

Will still watch, hopefully it gets better...

Does the "Weeds" website have a merchandise section?

mary kate olsen joins the cast this season so that can't hurt. but yeah i generally agree that the ridiculous ending to last season pretty much crushed the show. they're trying to keep it light while delving into heavy territory and it's not really working for me.

yeah, this season isn't working...

There is another season. The way season 2 ended I just thought it was over. That was the only time I watched showtime and don't have it anymore, but I seriously thought the season 2 finale was the series finale too

They shouldn't have killed U-turn........he at least brought a little bit of pressure into the magical, make believe world of WEEDS.
And what about the DEA hubby death thang? And now Nancy looks like she may be falling in love(ok....stalking) with his ex-wife?
There is soooo much story line that could be filled in & the shows writers seem to move along too quickly in their better plots & drag out their more fictional simplistic storylines.
I love the show.....but I keep finding myself thinking(as I am watching the show) how far fetched & trendy themed the show is becoming

I just got Showtime this summer and through the magic of ON-DEMAND, I watched the first 2 seasons over the course of about 2 weeks. I really liked the first season, 2nd a little less due to the fact that the plot just seemed too insane.
The first season or so had really funny moments, but was also kind of dramatic and touching at spots and I thought it worked (single young widow doing what she had to do to maintain, yada yada yada). The U-Turn thing really started to lose me as it seemed totally ridiculous. I'm still watching, just not enjoying it as much as the first few seasons.
Gotta love that Uncle Andy though. One funny character.

I could care less about the realistic aspect of the story line... which is virtually none...

I enjoy for laughs, pure and simple... for me, it continues to have quips and situations, that while ridiculous, make me bust a gut... kinda like the office, though I like that office much better (I work in that environment so it's easier to relate to - since I'm not in the dealing trade )

I love kevin nealon in this show... he's my fav...

Nancy bothers me from time to time cause they continually put her on the verge of breakdown with new "impossible" situations. but as I said, I get over it because the show makes me laugh... and thats something I need far more then a serious drama, life has enough of that for me.

I thought killing U-turn was necessary. Season three had gotten too dark with him in it.

IT is supposed to be a comedy, not so funny with him.

Mary Kate has lightened it up some.

I agree that it has slipped some this year.

Okay, killing U-Turn was necessary(he was a total a-hole & needed to go).......& you gotta love the way that Marvin did him in,too. The only thing that I'm saying is that U-Turn brought more of a connection to the street element & the Mexican gang & having it over on Conrad & Haylea(I thought SHE shoulda been the one to off U-Turn)

Now it's just like.....okay Nancy has no tension from debt due to U-turn......so she starts spreading her legs again w/ a-holes(which Mathew modine definitely is)....got her kids are selling her drugs for her(which I think is way tacky)......& now she's obsessed w/ her dead DEA huband's ex-wife??

Andy is the definitely the best part of the show.....f*ckin hilarious, every time they show him!
He,along w/ Kevin Nealon & Celia's ex(drawing a blank right now) are soooo funny together!(Great writing on their dialogues)

I vote for a MAJOR catfight between Nancy & Celia in the middle of one of Matthew Modine's press conferences!!
And I definitely think that they need to bring back Andy's whacky ex girlfriend(Zoe Dechannel?sp?)...she was hilarious on the show!!!

I think Haylea WOULD have killed U-Turn, but Marvin beat her to it.

I also think that the mexicans will come back and be some pressure later on in the season... they basically threatened her and marvin about it...

Nothing was funnier than Andys whole masterbation explanation to Shane when Shane was suspected of flushing his "used" sweat socks down the toilet.

I loved it when Andy was at the truckstop looking for Shane & was talking on the phone & the people ganged up on him & beat the sh!t outta him cause they thought he was a child perv!(Remember? he was buying choc milk, too!LOL)
Andright after that he came running into the police station to get Shane & he was rambling(& bleeding&banged up)......& Nancy was already there!
Andy definitely gets some of the best writing done for his situations.
And you know...I didn't really know if I was going to like his character being in the mix when he first came on the show!(Shame on me!)
