has'nt it been great to see derek and warren evolve as musicians esp in the past few years. 2 very different styles w/ no boundries . although its debatable the way they're playing now ther're the best duo ever. i love this band

Thinking back at what Warren has accomplished over the past few years. I consider Warren Haynes to be our modern day MOZART. Look at all the musicians he has gotten together to make it happen. It seems everyone wants to join him on stage or in the studio. It didnt use to be that way. Musicians played in there band, they didnt venture out much and play with other folks as much. I dont see many other bands having as many guest musicians as the ABB or Govt Mule. In the past, was it the contracts musicians had with their labels that kept them from playing with others?

The Xmas Jam is another example. That is one of the best shows I have attended. This years jam will be my eighth in a row. Unbelievably, each years jam gets better and better. That just shows what caliber of a person he is to pull it off.

We are blessed to have Derek and Warren in one our favorite bands. Its truly amazing how compatible they are. Derek is a smooth as they come, he has matured greatly the last couple of years and his playing indicates it. These two cats, have opened my eyes and ears to some of the best music known. Whether, it be jazz, blues, rock, R&B. My friends ask me now, Damn Taylor what ya listening to. You dont usually listen to stuff like that. They are shocked and then they listen and like it too. I just smile, and tell them thats Warren or thats Derek sitting in with ARU or Phil Lesh.

They get so confused..................I just love it though. Then when I throw some ABB's on friends ask who is that.....................I lose it and say its the ABB. You have to understand that some of my friends dont even know the Brothers exist anymore, they are not even aware of this site. I am always spreading the music and turning them on to some good stuff. They thank me later on................point being, its either Warren or Derek that put me on the music by playing with different folks.

Fully agreed, the direction they've taken the ABB in is a very enlightening evolution of the band's music
I've kinda fallen behind on ILs (2005 shows most recent) -- that's gotta change!
Good post abbev, I love this band too
