[NOTE: I posted this to the 'Spare Tickets' thread late last evening, but so far no takers for the FREE tickets. Please excuse me for re-posting to this thread, but the message is time-sensitive because the tickets are for tonight's concert - Friday, 17 Aug 2007 in Camden, NJ - and this thread gets more traffic than 'Spare Tickets'. If I've broken protocol by posting it in 'Anything Goes', forgive me! - Dana]

ORIGINAL MESSAGE posted to the Spare Tickets thread and slightly modified at 6:20 AM EDT, 17 Aug 2005:

Yep, you read it correctly. Unfortunately, we cannot attend the Camden show this evening (Fri, 17 Aug 07). The 3 seats are around half way up the main floor, in the left side section (facing the stage). Real seats, not lawn - paid $65 each plus handling through Ticketmaster, during the pre-sale.

Here's the deal. I work in Trenton, NJ - right in the heart of town. I wiil be available between 9 AM and 4 PM to give these tickets to someone who can use them. I'm giving them away so that someone else can see the show since we can't go - please don't just take them to try to sell them outside Tweeter.

Email me at this address if you want the tickets and can come to Trenton to get them today (Friday, 17 Aug 2007): danaschwartz@optonline.net. I will not get to check back here (and I cannot access HTW at work), so the email above is the ONLY way to reach me. First one who convinces me that he/she is sincere and will show up gets an email reply with more info re how to pick up the tickets!

Wow!~How cool are you to offer these tickets up for free?(and with only 2 posts)
I'm sure that you'll get multiple inquiries over here in the "Anything Gos" section.
Wish I could use them...but I live in the Cincy area & won't be able to pull the road trip off in time.
Very cool........welcome to the "famABBily"too,BTW!

Thanks for the kind words, Krishna. And here I am on my *third* post ever to let everyone know that the tickets have been claimed. Thanks again to all who inquired.

BTW - if you notice, it may be the first time(s) I've posted here, but I've been registered to this version of HTW since 2002. And I've been an ABB fan, I guess a less vocal part of the family, for *much* longer than that. I believe I heard them for the first time in early 1970. :-) I was at a Pink Floyd concert in Toledo, OH, when someone announced to the crowd that Duane had been killed in a motorcyle accident in Macon. Gee - I've been to the Big House and I have (respectfully) visited Duane's and Berry's graves at Rose Hill in Macon more often than I've been to my parents' final resting places. (Hey - I get down to GA from NJ more often than I do to my old home town! It's a logistical thing, really!)

Anyhow, I wish I were going to see the boys in Camden this evening, but since I can't go, I'm happy to know that someone else will be enjoying those tickets. That's what family is all about, right? Giving the tix away is part of the '60s legacy, I guess. :-)

(Oh! Sorry you couldn't beam yourself over from Cincy, Krishna! :-) )

Peace and Love from the Garden State,
Dana
