I know folks get tired of these type of threads but this dog was my dear companion for the last 12 years

Charm had to be euthanised at 5 pm tonight, she had cancer and it spread quickly.I hope her spirit is running with the pack as I type. Not a mean bone in her body and she was a joy to live with these years.

Pet your dog, throw him/her the ball, take em fo a walk, Id give anything to do so again.

Charm was a great dog and a better friend! RIP, thanks for all the companionship and love.

Oh Neil! So sorry to hear about Charm! I hope she didn't suffer much. You were lucky to have he in your life for 12 years. My Lola has been one of the very best companions a human could have the priviledge of loving. It always amazes me the kind of love a dog provides and they ask for so little in return. I'll give her a scruff for you and Charm tonight and be thinking about you both.

CowboyNeil, I too am not tired of these threads. Folks should LOVE their pets and be proud of the affection. Our beloved pets are a great joy to many of us, especially those of us who are single or otherwise alone. A lot of people know I lost Boo Boo last December the 12. Boo Boo was a female cat with a racoon tail, racoon type coat on top, white stomach with black, white, and blue greenish face, and a black nose. Boo Boo had beautiful green eyes and they would glow in the dark when the light hit them right. She used to sleep either at the foot of the chair or in the chair with me. She was my baby for 15 years. So I can understand how you feel about your dog Charm.

I advise you to get a new animal in a few weeks or months if you don't have one. I was lonely and I ran out and got a new cat on 12/23/06. I named her Blossom around January or February. I'm getting her trained. She will sleep at the foot of my bed. I can baby talk a cat again. She loves to play and she loves attention. She was a stray or at least she was a cat from Animal Control here in Jacksonville, FL. According to the paperwork they provided she turned three on July the third. This cat is a calico. She is orange, white and black. She looks a whole lot like an UNHEALTHY cat that I fed for three years. I gave Blossom a bath two days ago, her second. The good news is that in 7 months we have not had a flea problem. Boo Boo had some sort of mutant flea on her, or for some reason I couldn't keep them off of her. I only wish I had a 2006 picture of her when she had gotten fat. My oldest picture of her is from around 2003 when she looked a lot fitter. Anyway, pets are great. And I also wish people gave a damn about wildlife in general but for many people it doesn't much come to mind to care about wild animals.

Rest in Peace Charm.

This is my baby, and I would not know what to do without her to help me when I am bummed out or discouraged. She's always happy that I am around, and never gets tired of me. Isn't it amazing how attached we can become to an animal.

This is precious, Neil. It's amazing how much more intuitive animals are than humans. I read an article in our local paper last week that had to do with a cat in a nursing home (out east, I believe). Anyway, this cat isn't really fond of people as a general rule but does roam the facility and can sense when someone has come to the end of their time here and will lie with that patient until they take their last breath. The article went on to explain how much comfort the family and friends of these patients took in that cat keeping their loved ones company at such a time. It touched me.

Drew, photo on its way.Great looking pup ya have,he looks like a charactor for sure

Charm was a pound puppy and my daughter and wife saved her life when Kendal said,"I want the smooth one " Kiva my Border Collie was the Alpha Female and dominated Charm, but Charm was always so happy to just hang with us. i wish I had watched the Dog Whisperer as I was a little ignorant about how dominant Kiva was. Kiva passed 3 years ago or so and Charm got to be THE DOG the last few years of her life. She blossomed and grew exponentially as a dog and just as a being.I am very proud to say she was my dog and my friend.

Thanks for letting me share a little bit with ya tonight as it has helped me during this hard day at our home.God bless ya all and I know all your pets are very lucky to have you guys in their lives

Charm was my third dog,and I loved all three of them. Its sad that dogs have shorter life spans than we do.We know this when we get a puppy but the companionship and the love these animals give us is worth the pain when a day like today comes along.

OK, signing off tonite but if ya all would like to share a picture of your companions here I think Charm would be honored.

thanks again for the kind words it meant alot to me tonight.God Bless you all

Thoughts and prayers Neil.

BTW—There’s a lot of research showing the health benefits of owning a pet, so consider being open to a new pet when the time is right.

I just wanted to say that I was very sorry for your loss my friend. I too have a real companion and best friend in my dog Zeus, who is a beautiful 10 year old Chow. I take him for long walks everyday, no matter how I am feeling and I really look for ward to it because I know someday I won't be able to. I tell Zeus I love him as often as I can and I make sure he is always happy and comfortable. THey are as much a part of the family as anyone. Charm is a real beauty and I am sure she gave you many years of joy. I will be sending doggie prayers your way from me and Zeus...All the best Brother.

I never get tired of these threads either. They do tear me up a little cause I know what your going through. It it very tough. My past dogs which I dont have pictures of on my computer were Hank and Willie and the cat SPicy. They have moved on. Now we have Trucks and Harvey.
Its sad and painful, but you just about have to forget about them to get over them. Getting another pet really eases the pain. Here is Harvey the pup and the 2 1/2 year old dog, I call
UNCLE TRUCKS..........

Harvey
