I saw this poll on the homepage and I thought it would be nice to discuss this. For anyone who hasnt seen it, this is the question:
If you went to both the Beacon and Wanee, which do you prefer? Please comment why.

So far it looks like this:
Beacon: 61.74% (355 votes)
Wanee: 38.26% (220)

I personally said Wanee. Nothing against the beacon, But I feel like Wanee is more family oriented. I love the fact that all of the family band's play at the fest. I just think that overall it is a better atmosphere (ive never been to either, but based on what Ive heard). I just think that If I had to choose one event to go to, it would be Wanee. It was a very hard choice for me, though. Just Going to an ABB concert would be amazing.

Im just curious what other people think.

I tried running this poll a few weeks ago. It floundered along as a "nothing thread".

Good luck....

Been to both (once each), liked the atmosphere better at Wanee.

I've been to both

It's like choosing one child over the other

You just don't do that, love them equally the same,
they both are very special and unique
for their own reasons

It's all good, no make that great !

It's apples and oranges. They're both great times, in very different ways.

The only boo boo I saw this last Wanee was when LUKE got clobbered by a guy on a bicycle.

Probably most of the people voting for the beacon have never been to Wanee.
If they had, it would be Wanee, hands down..............
Put me down for WANEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been to either but I'd say Wanee solely for the jams. I'm hoping to make it down next year.

Never been to the Beacon but I have been to Wanee and I'd have to say with the lineup at Wanee I think it's hard to beat. I am going to the Beacon this coming year I guess I'll see then. Oh yeah I'll be at Yogi's too.

Beacon and Wanee are two different critters! I prefer Wanee just because I love and would rather be outdoors - not to mention that it's also only a little over an hour from my house. Beacon is absolutely amazing experience and I gotta say, I'm totally out of my element in NYC but find it all fascinating every time I go - endless sites and fun there! A+ Hospitality and aftershows are amazing. Hoping to be able to "afford" to go this year - had to skip the last two years but will work harder on saving for it this time. I think cuz they are so close together (March/April) it makes it almost impossible for most of us (financially, family and jobs) to do them both but if you can, do it!!!

I'm spoiled, I want both. WANEE is definately a different vibe than Beacon, but I can't find anything with brown gravy at the concession stands at WANNEE.

One ain't better than the other, they's both great !!! Don't choose betwixt the two, go to both.

Then pay the credit card off before next year, and do it again

my one trip to wanee was awesome, but if i had to choose, like last year, and the year before, i choose the beacon. as much as i love the other bands, my favorite band to see, all-time, is the ABB, and the Beacon is a 4-night-long in-your-face Brothers show. plus, i grew up in a small town, and LOVE going to NYC. everyone's SO friendly, and polite, and funny, and i find upper-west-siders easy and willing to be charmed. one just puts on a big, easy smile, wills oneself to be 'somebody,' and everything else just flows.

11 Beacon trips in 10 years, 40+ shows, what a great time!

and one superb, perfecto garcia trip to wanee.
