Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in the wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--R. Frost

There came a time, in 1968, in California, when a young man took the road less traveled by. A road that took him from the glitz of L.A. to the hills of North Alabama, to Jacksonville, Macon, Miami, the East Village of New York, and so many places in between.
And, finally, back to Macon.
Countless lives have been affected, and continue to be affected, by the road the young man chose to travel. Some of those, lives affected to varying degrees by the young man's decision so many years ago, have recently left this world--George McCorkle, Lisa Dodd, Cindy Capps. Many of us who remain will again join together in my little town to celebrate the road traveled by the young man. If the path chosen by Duane Allman has been a positive event in your journey through this world, would you please join us in celebration of his life and legacy?

The 2007 Jam for Duane will again be celebrated in Gadsden, Alabama on October 27.
To support the event, BIGMEN of Gadsden bring us an evening of entertainment on the eve of the Jam at Mort Glosser Amphitheatre, featuring artists impacted in their lives and music by the path chosen by Duane Allman. Many knew him well.
Our brother, Lefty Collins, like many of us, dealing with the joys and heartbreaks life brings, found people in the legacy of Duane's band to share the journey. He brings his band, with the Vancura brothers, in from Chicago.
Col. Bruce Hampton is one of the few musicians to predate Duane in the Atlanta music scene, yet has been positively impacted by the path Duane chose. He'll be here to celebrate, with his current band, the Quark Alliance.
Many of Duane's old friends, the Capricorn Rhythm Section, will be joining us, perhaps with a new face or two.
Closing the show will be the gentleman who for years occupied Duane's spot with the Allman Brothers Band. Mr. Jackie Pearson and his band.
The show begins at 6PM, tickets $30, will be available soon.
The Jam for Duane was founded 31 years ago by Brent Sibley. His band, the Skydogs, will be performing after the show at Blackstone Bar and Grill, Broad Street, Gadsden. Admission $5, all going to the band. Special guests expected.

The Jam for Duane will be Saturday, Oct. 27 at Gadsden Convention Hall, 12:30 to 11:30 PM. Several bands will be joining us, and substantial time will be set aside for open jamming among amateurs and professionals alike. Covered dishes welcome. Coolers welcome at both events.
The Jam for Duane is a free event as it has always been. Donations welcome. Following the Jam, Issac Pike's band, Spun Wagon, will be appearing at Blackstone, $5, to the band. Special guests expected.

So there you have it. This year's celebration of the life and legacy of Duane Allman.
We hope you choose to join us. Your support means everything. We're working on some room deals, details as available.

Thank you Randy, Brent, Big Alabama Men and all involved. That includes Duane and Lana and Rowland.

I've had my hotel reservation and plane ticket for some time now. This announcement is the icing on the cake. I've never seen Col. Bruce, so its about time I did.

Contracts are in process or received from all. All have given permission for use of their names. We have to send out the deposits to the bands, along with the signed contracts, then get tickets printed.
Two weeks, or less. There is substantial up-front outlay involved, so the BIGMEN will be getting the tickets out ASAP.

Do not know if you guys/gals have done the shirts, which are amazing. I had posted this in the Duane thread and someone added a halo around the slide (cannot find it for the life of me). This would be a cool shirt
