I'm thinking about taking the ferry over for Saturday or Sunday. Not sure though. I might just wait to see the weather first.

I went last year despite the weather and had a great time. I'd definitely recommend this festival to anyone who loves good music and good "vibes." I should add that the venue is no doubt a vast improvement on the very under equipped Indian Point location. From the looks of the photos I've seen (from a brochure I picked up at this years Mountain Jam) it looks like a great set-up, particularly with the water front camping so close by. I'd consider going but Conneticut is about 6 hours from home one way. That makes for a very long road trip. The buddy I went with last year is going again this year. Since he retires next Thursday, he'll have plenty of time to recover, unlike myself.

I just realized last night what a hectic week that will be:

August 4 - DMB in Hartford
August 5 - DMB in Hartford
August 7 - DMB in Philly (stay the night)
August 8 - DMB in Philly (drive home)
August 9 - 12 - Vibes

That is going to be a week of pure bliss yet the most tired I'll ever be.

I have gone to the last 6 Vibes and they have been somne of the best weekends of the summer every yr. Not going this yr. but I am thinking this venue will be alot better getting in then upstate .

If your on the fence about going, GO!! The lineup this yr. is awesome and the Vibe tribe does a great job!

Yeah, Indian Point was a big pain in the ass getting in. However, once inside things were great. Except for the lack of showers and bathrooms, that is. I remember chatting with a young couple who's car overheated and broke down due to the constant start stop **** . My gang didn't get in until 2:30-3:00 PM on Friday. And we got there at around 8:00 AM. Missed some great bands too!

Sounds like there have been a lot of improvements made to Seaside Point (and that the Vibes has some history with this venue). Wish I could be doing this...adding to my to-do list for future.

We are heading to Seaside Park for Vibes in just 2 weeks!
...sooo excited to get there early on Thursday, set up camp and explore the park. Celebrating Jerry with DSO that night will be a perfect kick-off to the weekend! So many great bands to see, taboot. It will be a long drive for us, but well worth it!

Note for anyone in the future. If you have the cash, go VIP. It is very much worth it in my opinion. Seperate private check in, campsites close to everything, VIP facilities including showers and a hospitality tent that fed you once day with free drinks and half price beer

At seaside it might be a lot better logistically though so going regular may be very good.
