There have been a good number of questions recently in the forum about tattoo's. I know for me it was a hard decision but I went thru with it and am happy each day. Like they say once you get one you want more. Hopefully we here can share our stories, artwork, artitsts, ideas for future work.

I have 2. 1 for each of my two boys.

We did my first son's room in parrots before he was born. Bright primary colors.
So I got a parrot tat with his initials and birthday painted on me upper arm.

For my second son, we continued iwth a tropical theme and I painted a bg mural on one wall of an island scene with a huge palm tree in the foreground. So I got a palm tree for him with the initials and date. This one killed. The artist was popular, in a lttle shop off of South St in Philly. Everyone who came in, he would stop and chat and then start again. It's one thing when they start. But to stop and start multi times REALLY sucks.

My wife insists I should get one to represent her. I tell her the boys will always be mine no matter what. She can always change her mind and dump my worthless ass. So why have that as a reminded. Although, I think I came up with an appropriate one that may work.

A broken heart with her initials. On the one hand, I can say she took my heart. And if it doesn't work out ... then she broke it.

But she won't let me get one for my pup. Light yellow lab named Mango.

Somehow, getting my bitch over my wife doesn't seem to jive with her.

If I were to get one exclusively for me, I think I'd get the Chinese character for chaos painted on my forearm.

When I was 19 I got a cross on my left arm. The only thing that i wish I had done differently is not get one off the wall at the tattoo parlor. This still bugs me to this day as to why I would do something like that, but I have been thinking for a while about how to add to it or have it covered up wtih a more elaborate cross. I really want to add around it to make it maybe a sky scene or something.

As for my right arm, I have wanted to get something in realation to the band. I have thought for over a year about getting the peach truck, but I always see other stuff I like too. I feel like this will be a good way to commemorate the best times in my life and also I want to use it to commemorate my Grandfather. He is my best friend and is 83, and when I lose him, I will need to have him with me at all times. I thought about putting his initials on the side of the truck....I dont know just a thought.

The mule is my next tattoo.

My mule tattoo is going to be this. I would like it to be red and 3 Mules not 4. The 3 for Warren, Allen and Matt. On Top "Gov't Mule" On the bottom would be "Music For Your Ass!"

The one I want with 3

My current tat is this ( small and left it so I can expand, done in 1996 in Sarasota Fl. Please do not mind the sunburn) I plan on doing smaller shrooms around the base and the phrase "Dedicated to our Brothers" Would love to do the Allman logo, always liked that.

No ink on me, but in my younger, wilder, partying days I considered getting:

IF FOUND, PLEASE RETURN TO (my address) inked onto my chest or back.

I've got three tats....for now.

On the left shoulder I have a wolf howling at the moon. Inspired from a line in the Kansas song, Magnum Opus: Howling at the Moon. "Rockin' and rollin' is only howling at the moon."

On the right shoulder I have an American flag with a wooden cross. It has two significances. "One nation under God" and "Proud to be an American and a Christian."

The third is a Japanese Kanji under the flag that is a memorial to my mother. Translated, it means "In memory of mother."

Thanks Eric. I plan to have some more work done on the Kanji, have it banded with some more tributes to mom. Just can't quite figure out what to do yet. I wouldn't mind covering up the flag and cross tat with something, but it would have to be almost solid black to cover it up. That was my first tat, and it was done by an amateur tattooist friend of mine. There's a mistake in it if you look hard enough, you'll see it. I can live with it, but I'm not crazy about it.

I left mine to add to it. Also left it high enough that it would not be seen. Funny story I got the tat in May 1996. That whole summer I did not go in my parents pool. It was hot as hell and they were stumped as to why. Then one day I took off my shirt near them and went oh sh__! They were fine with it.

good thread eric~!

i've been wanting a tat for so damn long but havent been able to decide on what, where, and when.

As soon as my favorite tattoo artist comes back from Germany i'm getting a heart with an eye above it, on my forearm...hard to explain i guess but i'm excited. i'm sure its going to be one of many.
