I don't have the DVD, but I've caught it on PBS or some TV station multiple times and everytime I ask myself why I haven't bought it. You are right. It is a classic. Just a great night of music. It kind of reminds me of The Last Waltz with all the great musicians on stage and chemistry between them all.

One killer DVD....the package has a lot of extra's as well so if you've only seen the 'theatrical release' it on PBS....buy the pak. It poses an interesting question....wouldn't Derek T. and George have gotten on famously with their love for Indian world music, slide guitar, etc.? Man, I would have loved to hear a collaboration of those two. I guess we can only dream.....

As an unrepentant Beatlemaniac, of course I loved it.
For me, the most beautiful moment came at the end, with Joe Brown playing his ukelele and singing I'll See You In My Dreams as gold confetti came down. It still gets me weepy.

Oh, and Monty Python with Neil Innes(of the Bonzo Dog Band and the Rutles!) on piano doing the Lumberjack Song!

This dvd is definitely among my most played. And like always, Billy Preston steals the show in my opinion.

Mind you I'm not a Beatles fan at all. I appreciate what they have done, but realy don't care for it.
On the other hand, I really like George,Ringo and Paul as solo artists. I loathe John Lennon no matter how ya present it to me.

It's right up there with The Last Waltz as my favorite concert DVD.

Billy Preston DOES steal the show,I also really like Ringo doing "Photograph".

It's something I watch when the wife and kids are out , so I can really get the speakers doing there duty and cranking out the tunes.

Wow !!!! I can't believe you don't dig Lennon. To each there own I guess. To me Lennon blows away the other three's solo work and he was the top dog in the Beatles as far as I'm concerned. I love almost all of their work both solo and with the Beatles, but to me John Lennon was amazing. Just imagine the amount of incredible music we were cheated out of because of some deranged scumbag.
