Does any one know if there are any plans for a new ABB live DVD? Perhaps another from The Beacon? I apologize if this has been covered already. Thanks

Haven't heard about any new DVD projects, but I bet a good one to film will be the Piedmont Park show in September.....HINT HINT to the ABB management team.

Hope your right Dave. I think that would be an awesome DVD experience. Had that Wanee DVD come out yet? I know its just compilation, but will be good to see.

I don't know when the release date for the WaneeFest DVD is, but I think they were doing some kind of pre-sale for it. I'll have to dig back and see what that web address is. Maybe someone has is bookmarked and will post it here again soon.

Another DVD would be nice. A Beacon DVD we already have. The Piedmont Park would make a good one, if its long enough. Wouldn't the show have to be at least 2 1/2 - 3 hours long. It would be nice if they shot video of the whole tour this summer, and cut a DVD from the best parts of the tour. Encores, special guests, best jams, etc.

That sounds like something we smoked out of at Wanee.

I would love to see them do another Beacon one. I didn't care so much for the first one. Don't get me wrong, I thought the music was awesome. The problem I have is that it seems like they tranquilized the crowd and you can't really feel the vibe or ambience of a regular Beacon show. Not sure if it was camera placement or keeping the ailses totally clear or what, but I just don't get the same vibe from that dvd that I get at the Beacon. Very hard to explain in words, but the audience at a Beacon show are always very rowdy and loud in a non violent way of course. I wish they would just set up a few cameras at a show or two and just let things naturally happen. It really seems like a subdued audience for a Brothers show at the Beacon. Did anyone else feel the same way about that dvd or am I the only one.

Pete

I think the cameras are a MAJOR problem of the Live At The Beacon dvd, as well as many other recent concert videos. If you look at the video you will notice that every two seconds another camera angle pops up. Maybe you would like to look at Warren playing the guitar, but before you can zero in on his solo, the image moves onto another angle, of something else, then something else etc. etc. Too many cameras and camera angles. I find this very annoying.

The first few rows of seats were empty so they could set up the cameras, and I guess much of the audience had an obstructed view of the band. That probably quieted things down.

The thing is, if you're going to pay to have people film your show, you're going to want to make sure they do it right. That probably is always going to mean more cameras.

I found my receipts today for my ordering of the live DVD taken at Wanee. The web site is www.jamcamDVD.com and when i went to it, it did open a page, but any links within that page were not functional.
So far as I can tell from my bank records, my card has NOT been charged yet for the 2 DVD's I pre-ordered.
Does anyone know more than me?? I am SO hopeful that these get/have gotten made!
the phone number listed on the reciept is 877-JamCam1. Has anyone called? I will do so in a bit.
Its been a bit longer than 3 months; is this a reasonable amount of time to wait for a live DVD to be made and shipped? I am not super impatient, but and anxious that something went wrong!! Let me know what anyone else has found out!
Happy summer everyone!

I agree, Pete. Loved the music and some of the backstage stuff (particularly Warren and Derek playing "Old Friend" as well as the wacky Beacon dude bitching about the long drum solo...hilarious) but the "vibe" just seems too subdude. But then again, I suppose it's quite difficult to capture such things on camera. I'll go on record as volunteering my services as "Director" for this years Beacon Run. I'll do it for free as long as I have complete backstage access and can bring along a few "assistants."

Another idea for a Beacon DVD is "Best of the Guests", I would love to see all the best guest stars on a Beacon DVD. Like Frampton doing "Born Under a Bad Sign" and "Southbound", Chuck Level playing the keys on "Jessica", Gary Rossington, all of them. I know legal issues would forbid this from happening, but I can dream, can I?
