I gotta lose some chub.

I am 5' 10" and ARGH, Sunday I weighed 190.6 lbs. JEEZ.

So yesterday I ate about three apples, a cup of coffee
some pretzles and two protein bars and some pickles.
Yeah, how's that for a balanced day of food!

I dunno, I've been riding my bike lately, some, but moreso
I've been eating too much most of the year, or mostly
too much JUNK, candy, several new types of Doritos.
DAMN YOU FRITO LAY.

I was about 165 at the start of the Jax, FL public school
year last August. I was about ten to 15 lbs lighter at the
time as a result of bike riding and cutting way back on
the food.

Well, let the deprivation begin.

It's all in the name of a Leaner, Meaner, Keener Dean.

I'll keep you posted.

So, are YOU obese, fat, large, big, plump, chubby or lean?

Good luck getting back on track. If you cut out a lot of the carbs and go with eating fish and chicken, turkey with lots of veggies and fruit, you can drop some weight. It's OK to snack a little. I mean you got to live and enjoy but just don't overdue it. Also be sure to eat the three meal system because this will keep the metabolism functioning best. I know people who think by skipping breakfast will mean they lose weight. Not true. Some people just don't eat breakfast cause they don't like to. To them I say just have a little something. Drink lots of water and go out for walks too. That is a great thing for overall health thru body and mind.

I am lean and use the above. It works.

I agree for the most part. I've been doing a low-carb thing for 5 years now, have kept off 40 lbs with no hunger problem whatsoever. Able to maintain 180 lbs at 6' tall. 3 meals a day is critical to success, keeps me from wanting to snack.

Susea's right. I lost 35 lbs. (and 4-5 sizes) doing Weight Watchers and exercising. Snacking is fine. Watch your portion sizes during meals and snack on the right things. I never used to eat fruit, now I have 2-3 serving every day. Strive for 5 - fruits and veggies each day. Stay away from baked goods and white foods (spuds, white rice, white bread.) Eat whole grains and foods packed with fiber, which will fill you up. Fiber One makes a great Oats & Chocolate bar. Weight Watchers has small cakes and there are frozen desserts (under the Smart Ones brand name) which are good. Skinny Cow makes really good low-fat ice cream products. Eat the Baked Lays chips if you need a salty snack. Pretzels are not good for you. Most are made with white flour and tons of salt. Don't get in a rut of eating the same old thing all of the time. Try different fruits and veggies for a change of pace. If you don't like it, don't buy it again.

Terri, I've seen the NEW YOU in the pics in the ABB Fans Forum. WOW, you look like
a completely different person. I would have bet you lost much more than 35 lbs. If I didn't know you from the forum I wouldn't have recognized you. GOOD JOB.

I guess I could try to eat Peaches. No really, my mom loves 'em. No, not like that but she likes Peaches, Nectarines, and all sorts of other fruits, Oranges, Tangerines, Tangelos, Plums, Grapes. I hate grapes as they tear me UP. I mean, I like grapes but they don't go for great gastrointestinal comfort. I also like pineapple but the acid doesn't like me. Thankfully I don't care for grapefruit and lemons as both are full of acid that will rip me up. I drive a school bus in the school year and I don't need well, you know. I also like watermelon but everytime I eat it I'll be eating HUGE portions. And I only want FRESH watermelon and not that stuff packed in plastic. But I should try different fruits and some veggies too.

But that hardly sounds like a diet. But I've found in the last four years that after diets I have QUICKLY put the weight back on. Eventually I am going to have to eat "right" since my feet are GONE and I'm 44 and getting more decrepit with each passing year. It used to be I'd fast and walk and my system was much stronger for deprivation. Now I get dizzy and it SUCKS. I don't want to be the FAT bus driver, and not even the plump driver stretching my jeans to a new dimension. I put away my 34 inch jeans and pulled out the fat 36 inch jeans and lately they have gotten too snug. I gotta stop eating sweet and chips.

In all seriousness I use an exercise ball and concetrate on my abs. There is about 4 good exercises that work including doing pushups with your arms on the ball. That way you abs focus to keep the ball centered. Your choice to do but I use hydroxcut hardcore (at a GNC store $50.00) That helps burn any excess fat. Drink lots of water with this as you should anyway. A good magazine is Mens Health and website is Askmen.com. good info on diet and exercise on bouth sites. If you use the hydroxycut you NEED to pay attention to the dose and not overdue it. It is what professional athletes use.

Yeah Dave, I've never met anyone who would rather have a 6 pack over a keg! I don't look big at first, but to say the least...i'm a little soft in the midsection and when I get tired it has potential to grow.

i'm undersized. way too short for my weight. i was fine up until i messed up my back - after that the spare tire just rolled up front and never left. then i got in a relationship with a girl who didn't cook. all she ever wanted to do was go out to eat. in 3 years i gained 20 lbs. i finally dropped the girl but not the weight.

Lean - 5 small meals each day - I work out with pro athletes for strength and conditioning, and then train in boxing & kickboxing for cardio. Diet is the key - no carbs in the late afternoon or evening - and I stay away from anything with wheat or gluten.
