I miss Jerry, too, MuleMe. Was at the 7/8 and 7/9/95 Soldier's Field shows...little did we know what a difference a month would make...

Summers aint the same without the dead

Did anybody catch last year's Phil show on 7/9/06 in Bethel Woods . . . it was sick with a triple encore tribute to Jerry:
He's gone
Touch of grey
Box of Rain

I definetly miss the summer shows at Giants Stadium. Just the parking lot scene alone was worth the price of admission. Always great opening acts also.

I have surely had the Jerry Blues lately
seems like I have been jamming to the 5.8.77 Cornell Univ. show
for weeks now, can't seem to get it out of my CD player.
Really hoping for some kind of Jerry tribute during the 8.10 Charlotte show
I'm leaving it in your hands Warren!
Todd.

sixty8 my wife and I made the trip from Buffalo for the Grateful Dead/Little feat show @ Giants Stadium in 91' I think, what a memory!

giants stadium with DYLAN--i believe 86 or 87--it was the hottest day & steam was rising from that big bowl of a stadium--soupy weather, great music, fun vibe....not as fun as 1973 in roosevelt stadium in NJ--a wild scene & some of our beloved JERRY's finest playing!!

Every year for the last 12 years I have mourned July-8th & 9th. The 8th because it is my all time favorite show from the boys(7-8-78), and the 9th because that is the night that the music stopped(7-9-95). Two years ago my 92 year old great grandmother died on 7-6, one day short of her 93rd birthday 7-7. Maybe this thread teaches us some things happen for the strangest reason....

I miss Jerry too. But when he left us, I finally had a perfect explanation for why I went to all those shows. My Dad invited me to join him on a business trip to SF in Jan 91. Without my knowledge, he bought me tix to see JGB at the Warfield. I got miracleized by my Dad!
Jerry, however, left me w/ an appreciation of many musical forms that has helped me get by since that sad day.

About a week ago I was having a cig break at work. I've been in a blissful Dead rut as of late and I started thinking hard about the man.

Staring upwards into the sky I again paid my respects to the man and spirit. Again, I felt the presence of the man and spirit that so emboldens my (too rare) joys on earth. I had to stop the tears before I walked back toward the doors.

Love you brother. Love you Jerry.

I think I'll finally get around to putting the Cow Palace NYE '76 show on. Yeah, I miss Jerry, too. Saw a couple of Dead shows in March or April '95 at the old OMNI. Last time thru Atlanta for the boys. Great show, as I recall. Those Spring Atlanta shows were great fun. I must've seen a dozen or so of those over the years.
