She is wonderful....and she's done alot to make sure the relatives of the old bluesmen like Bukka White, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt and others are getting the proper treatment....wonderful woman!

Thanks for sharing the link to that clip.

Bonnie should rip like that a bit more often. Every time I've seen her, either on videos or the one time live, her slide playing is really subdued. It was a pleasure to see her play a lot looser.

At times, she sounds a helluva lot like Lowell George.

Three quick points about Bonnie Raitt. Big Fan here, have been since the Mid-Seventies. The first time I saw Bonnie in concert was probably around the time the Doobie Brothers Kicked Tom Johnston out of the band. I say this because Tom's Band opened for Bonnie that night, Tom had a hit with "Show me".
Also from that show, the encore consisted of Bonnie's Dad John singing "Oklahoma", while Bonnie strutted around the stage playing slide guitar. I remember being stoned to the hilt, looking around and hearing a groan from the crowd to the tune of "What the F*$K is going on here, this is a Rock Concert".. But still a R & R moment to remember.
And I may have asked this on another Bonnie thread, But I distinctly remember Ms. Raitt and Gregg Allman being a couple for a while. Anyone else remember that?
Finally, in the early eighties I had 2 great seats to see Bonnie @ Humphrey's by the Bay in San Diego. I can remember asking about 5 women to go see her with me and hearing ..."Bonnie Who"?...or "Who is Bonnie Raitt"?...."What kind of music does she play"?..."Never heard of her"...then she won the Grammy and I had to stand in line with all her new Fans...

My favorite Bonnie story: I was going to college in Rochester, NY in the mid-70's, and she came to town for a concert. Me and a few music-lovin friends go to see her. During the show, she mentions that she had played in Buffalo the night before. Before she could get out another sentance, a guy in the crowd yells out "Buffalo Sucks!!". Without missing a beat, Bonnie replies; "well.... maybe, but I didn't get any"

Great show btw

My fave Bonnie Song...

Storm warning, feels like a heavy rain
Winds on the coast tonight
We may get tossed tonight

Storm warning, he made it pretty plain
He's fallin' for another, found a new lover
(and he won't be back again)

Can't stop a river, when it's burst it's banks
I've seen the look in his eyes
He's in love and hypnotized

Time of mourning
There's already been a flood of my tears
Such a sense of loss tonight
Nought to do but ride it out

Can't stop a river when it's burst it's banks
I wonder how long it's gonna take
To get over this heartbreak

Storm warning, feels like a heavy rain
Winds on the coast tonight
We may get tossed tonight
