Any one have kids that listen to these? I think they are up to volume #12 now. I just saw the commercial on TV and some of those songs lyrics seem inappropriate for kids. Especially the age group targeted in the commercial. Any one know if they change lyrics around when the kids are singing the songs or are they the same as they way the artists recorded them?

Hey Pam !

I was reading reviews on Amazon........

a lot of folks were saying some of the lyrics were still not appropriate for kids..others were saying they were okay. Most were complaining about how bad the kids sang..LOL !

Here ya go :

some of them are still very suggestive... most of those songs they couldn't change enough to be kid appropriate anyway...

Really they are trying to take the songs that kids hear as being "popular" and make them slightly more compatible... we have two of them... I don't think they are so bad but I'm pretty liberal in that area...

my music was always a little ahead of my age group when I was growing up...

It is this Maroon 5 song that is bugging me....

I wake up with blood-shot eyes
Struggled to memorize
The way it felt between your thighs
Pleasure that made you cry
Feels so good to be bad
Not worth the aftermath, after that
After that
Try to get you back

[Bridge]
I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a f**k about you

[Chorus]
Give me something to believe in
Cause I don't believe in you
Anymore, Anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to try
(Yeah)
So this is goodbye

[Verse]
God damn, my spinning head
Decisions that made my bed
Now I must lay in it
And deal with things I left unsaid
I want to dive into you
Forget what you're going through
I get behind, make your move
Forget about the truth

[Bridge]
I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a f**k about you

[Chorus 1 + 2]
Give me something to believe in
[Makes Me Wonder lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

Cause I don't believe in you
Anymore, Anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference,
It even makes a difference to try (yeah)
And you told me how you're feeling
But I don't believe it's true
Anymore, Anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
(Oh no)
So this is goodbye

[Breakdown]
I've been here before
One day a week
And it won't hurt anymore
You caught me in a lie
I have no alibi
The words you say don't have a meaning
Cause..

[Bridge]
I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a f**k about you and I...
and so this is goodbye

[Chorus 1 + 2]
Give me something to believe in
Cause I don't believe in you,
Anymore, Anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference,
It even makes a difference to try
And you told me how you're feeling
But I don't believe it's true
Anymore Anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
(Oh no)
So this is goodbye
So this is goodbye, yeah (x 3)

Thankfully Abi learned a long time ago she can go shopping in Mommy's CD's and listen to anything she wants there.

I just read that...20 reviews and 11 of them were one star!
I wonder how that Grandma is going to feel when the 3 year old starts singing the lyrics I posted?

hehe... I wish that were true of my collection.... many things that are just as inappropriate as those above...

Led Zepplin has the lemon song... rolling stones album sticky fingers is one of my favs but certain songs on it that are sexual or drug oriented... etc etc etc

Thankfully they like DTB enough to never complain that I play them all the time... and they can even sing along with most (they just can't take the long instrumentals)

I have to admit the Hannah Montana CD is the best one we've picked up thats aimed at kids... songs aren't suggestive... and they know almost everyone of them by heart... and she has a new one in the works now...

I don't listen to much "new" music, so there are some new songs where
the only version I know is the kidz bop version.

Abi wants to get the Hannah Montana CD too. She watches the show all the time. Maybe it is the new one? Meet Miley Cyrus I think.

It's a double CD titled Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus. It's all I've heard coming out of my daughter's room for the last week.May not be exactly my cup of tea,but at least it's much more listenable than a lot of stuff they put out these days.I was lucky a friend of mine works for ABC,so he took her to see HM/MC when she did Good Morning America a couple of weeks ago.Saved me from getting up at 4 AM
