You know the feeling. You're going to a Live Show at a Cool venue. Everything is in Place, Good seats, Good company, plenty of "Pre-Game festivities".. nudge, nudge

What Bands get your blood up?... In the "Old Days" it Was Little Feat and or Etta James......

Now?...Definitely, Delbert McClinton

For me, I am always excited when I buy my tickets, but am never excited once I get to the show waiting for it to start. I have no idea why. The few shows that I have been very excited for while I was sitting there waiting for it to begin are:

Phil Lesh & Friends - 06/03/2007
Dave Matthews Band - 08/05/2006 (first show in 4 years that Bela Fleck & The Flecktones opened, so I knew they would sit in)
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - 04/21/2007 (first ever D&T show)
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - 04/22/2007 (I knew it was being filmed for a DVD)
Eric Clapton - 09/29/2006 (w/ Derek and Doyle)
Robert Randolph & The Family Band - 11/17/2006

I got to know the guys in Big Dave and the Heavyweights when they used to play in the local brewing co. in town. I'm from just North of LA (thats loosianna) and love to hear some home cooked tunes. Since the new owner, a friend of ours, bought the place the music has been cut back. We used to get some killer big time acts playin in our little town in SC. Oh well, Now I'm living in GA, and Augusta is a grade a buzz killer when it comes to entertainment. I won't get started on that.

I get a major jolt just walking into a club and watching a band play...

Of course it not quite the same as the ABB... , but similar...

Bluedad, I'm sure you have been to the brewpub. When I was in college, Christian used to have that place jamming all the time with great music. Perpetual groove, King hippo, and even Dr. Dan Matrazzo from Fiji Mariners played there. (what a fuggin awesome show) I got to have a few with the man himself too.

I used to have a permanant seat at the bar there when I lived in Aiken. My wife and I used to spend a lotta time there when we were dating. I know the Beavers well, and My dad and I sold the new owners a point of sale system. ( my dad owns his own pos co.) I still go there every once in a while.

Believe me, if they would let me become a regular, they would let anyone in. I should have or could have been tossed about as many times as Bluedad has patronized, and they still welcome me with open arms. However, I don't have a fanny pack, so I better not push it!
