From Thrasherwheat:

As we reported earlier, The Archives release has been delayed until 2008. According to Michael Goldberg's blog, Neil Young’s publicist says the delay is due to “new sonic upgrades to the DVD portion that needed to be finalized.”

The publicist also confirms that "Neil Young has been recording, but there are “no firm plans on any album yet.”

Neil Young has proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that creativity and energy and vitality and the Hippie Vision can be kept alive, flourish, and be a driving force in living. "I'm still living the dream we had, to me it's not over" (NY)

GOD BLESS NEIL YOUNG!

please have him call the ABB members and share his secret to staying creative in writing new music

Bird....IMO, Neil's recent music (since the one with Pearl Jam at least a decade ago) just isn't up to his old standards. Some of it has been pretty good and some has just been plain boring (for my taste).

I'll give the ABB credit for only releasing top shelf studio albums, even it has been only 4 since 1990. Quantity doesn't equal quality, although I share your sentiment about the ABB needing to record. Your mileage may vary...

I love Neil. One of my all-time musical heroes.

But I've given up on the Archive release ever being released in my lifetime...

What exactly is the "archive" release? Is this the box set?

I'm hearing rumors and I say just rumors that he is planning to start touring Europe early next year.

I've still never listened to Living with War, I've heard the live cuts, but I could really do without the preaching.
