Year, 1958, electric guitar purchase just about causes divorce. More to come after the 4th of July.

Is this something that is going to lead to another cover story on 20th Century Guitar Magazine?

Very possible, I'll know more after the 4th of July. Electric guitar purchase in 1958 almost caused a divorce because of the price. We'll see if the guy is BSing me or not .

Dave, he's been dissing me...I think he's full of ****
I'm sure he would had mentioned it again if his mother really had something like this stored away. Believe me, I was excited for him .
I think I will ask him about it this afternoon at work.

There was a great story that turned out to be FACT not too long ago about a find in an elderly woman's house- A 1942 martin D-28, tucked away in a corner next to a piano, never been played, with the tags still on it. It appeared that it had never moved from that spot since it was given to her as a gift from her nephew who worked at the Martin shop at the time. It was in such great condition (original strings still on it too) that it could not be properly appraised, as one had that old had never been seen in BRAN NEW condition before. I wish I could find the pics. They used ot be easily accessible.

Many a persons daydream is finding something like that, there must be loads out there.... in attics ... belonged to a teenager that long since moved from home and lost interest .... actually, thinking about it, there must be a hole somewhere full of parts of '72 SG standards with Pete Townsends fingerprints all over them.
