I am new to this (and very appreciative) and am wondering if you can share a defining moment that made you fall in love with the Allmans. Mine was listening to " A Decade of Hits" in 2000 after graduating college with no plans for life whatsoever. I was in Colorado for the first time having the time of my life. I have not gone more than a few days without a dose of Allman Brothers since! This band has truly changed my life! A few years later my 3 year old son was riding bikes with me and all of a sudden started singing "Ramblin' Man" while we were riding...that is how I have been permanently touched by this music...please share your stories now.

Stu, for a guy in 2000 w/ no plans for life to have a 3 yr old son a few years later, you sure got a plan together promptly. It was 1974 and my mother had just gotten saved and decided my brother and me needed to go to a Marietta, GA fundamentalist Christian school for my 9th grade. One kid in my class, one of the few cool ones, recommended the ABB to me and Fillmore East in particular. I bought it and that recommendation was the brightest spot on a bad year for me. Left that school the next year for public school, thankfully.

The opening notes to "Don't Want You No More" from the first Brothers record on my stereo in 1970. Never heard anything like that before or since.

When I first heard the beautiful lead to "Jessica" way back in 1989, when I was 9-years-old. I've been hooked ever since, and I continue to be amazed at how unbelievable the current lineup is. I hope it never changes.

In 1970, as a macon little league first base guy...my pitcher on the team (Robert Shaw, where are you now?) made me go to a concert in macon by these guys named the allman brothers - he had an extra ticket an didnt wanna go alone...we were about 12 or 13. Thats the only way I got to see Duane before he died....and I was damn mesmerized. The rest is history, boys and girls....

I got into the Allmans after their Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction. Bought the same CD you did....and the rest is history. I lurked the old site and this one for years, but I didn't sign on until last year. I have to say that I'm glad I did. I've met a lot of good people and have heard the best music of my life. No complaints.

Well, I first came to this site for FUGLY reasons (as some of you know) but my defining moment for the ABB, was the first time I heard Midnight Rider. (Gave me GOOSEBUMPS!)

I've been trying to learn to play that song on an acoustic guitar forever and a day, but I still sound like a scalded cat on CRACK.

I am here because I love Gregg Allman. I love his music, I love his voice
and I love the man. I can't say for sure when it started. I listened to the ABB starting in 1970 I think. My boyfriend, now my husband, had their albums. The first time I heard "I'm No Angel"
on the radio around 1988 I guess, I truly fell in love. I immediately went and bought that CD
and now I have a pretty good collection. I found this website last year when I put Gregg Allman in the Google box. And I love this site.
