Here is a video someone posted of the mama bear and her three cubs that I was talking about in my review. We were just across from the red skilift pole that the bears came out from probably less than a minute before the video was taken. This was about a half hour before Phil and Friends went on. A little scary at first, but very beautiful to see once we got a little distance.

That is some great video and probably something the promoters didn't even think about when setting up this gig It was probably a good thing that it was a mother and her cubs and not a male as she seemed preoccupied with them. I am sure that the noise from the crowd kept her away as hell. I've seen a snake, weasel, and deer all up quite close in nature but this stuff definitely trumps that!!!!!

This was my second bear experience. At Mountain Jam 1 me and my friend Tom(High) encontered a bear that I think was a bit bigger than that mama bear. It walked out in front of us about 40 feet up the driveway of the Forester hotel. I turned and quickly made my way back down towards the main road and it took me a little time to work up the courage to walk up that driveway to our hotel. The bear just dissapeared into the woods and didn't bother anyone. I'm glad we weren't right on top of the bear when it came out of the woods.

That is cool. They must have been pretty hungry to come around that many people. They know good music when they hear it............

That is so cool!!! And good to see nobody attempting to approach an adult female with cubs - sure fire way to get badly hurt.

Hell.....I tho't you were talking about the BAND...."The Bears" with Cincinnati roots that features Adrian Belew, Rob Fetters and Bob Niswonger....the latter two members of the notorious Psychodots and/or Raisins.....didn't figure on real 'bears'.....Yogi & Boo Boo!

I would think she probably smelled the food vendors cooking, and the overflow from the trashcans. With that many people she more than likely decided to come back at night.
