"Drive fast, brake hard, and slide in the wet spots!"

Just kidding...I actually drive slow compared to most idiots.

Seriously though, I try to treat everyone with respect for their dignity, and look for the good in people. Everyone has something unique about them. Also, when meeting new people, I think it's important to find a common thread (if you even desire to get to know them, at whatever level). Heck, some people you meet, you just wanna get the heck away from them. Guess that is contradictory to my first statement. Oh well, yeah, like Mitzi said, do your best...that's about all we can do, huh?

"Do the best you can with what you've got."

The late CEO of the company that I work for (before the merger, anyway) always said this.
Rather than sit around whining over what you don't have, be thankful for the gifts and blessings that you do have. Get off your ass and do something productive, creative and fun with your life!

Treat others as you wish to be treated (the love you take really is equal to the love you make ). It's also nice to let the people you love know just how you feel ... time can be fleeting - don't miss an opportunity to express the joy someone has brought to your life. You'll probably make their day while doing so.

Do your best at whatever you do - this could mean as CEO of a Fortune 500 company or a grill cook at the local diner (there can be a quiet honor found in any task - be proud of yourself and your accomplishments).

Forgive yourself and others - we are none of us perfect...life is a work in progress - we are all stumbling through this together.

Be open to change...don't be afraid.

Take joy in the little things - sitting quietly watching the miracle of a sunset can be as fulfilling as that raise in your next paycheck.

Enjoy some fine adventures if and when you're able. This could be a hike up the mountain, a dip in the ocean, seeing a new place for the first time, sleeping under the stars, dancing in a field to the music in your head. The memories of these times will help you through the hard times.

Accept that it is what it is - doesn't make it any less precious.

Read Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle... it tells you everything you need to know about life, love and the pursuit of happiness.

Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Stay away from negative people. Don't sweat the small stuff. Everyone deserves to be happy.

As far as I'm concerned there is just one rule...The Golden Rule..."Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Also I love this quote from Ghandi, "If enough grains of sand are dropped into the machine, the machine will eventually break."

For me it's been.....
Yoga
To breath deep,exhale slow.
To be completly honhest with myself, and others,no matter how difficult.
To treat all living things with respect. And never do anything to any living thing it does not want done to it.

If you're at a restaurant and you have the opportunity to eat an animal that would eat you, you have to do it.
