Get in there quickly -- I just got Row E, which I assume is 5th row (I couldn't imagine a high school doing complicated AA type stuff like the Beacon)

There are still plenty of tickets available, so go on out and get them. Even if you can't go but want to support the charity or my efforts, feel free to buy a ticket and auction it off for the Fence Fund. I think I'll be putting up another pair of tickets for auction for the fence fund within the coming weeks also.

Also, Row E is 8th row. The orchestra goes:

AAA, AA, AB, AC, A, B, C, D, E, ....

The balcony goes:

AD, AE, AF, ...

I guess I was wrong about no complicated AA type rows -- I think it's even worse than the Beacon. Either way, 9th row is pretty sweet, and probably better, since I'm taking my mom, who is sensitive to loudness.

so far vinsanity has not come through with a handicapped accessible ticket for my friend, much to my dismay. we had several email exchanges yesterday and at first said that he could get my friend in the first 5 rows. i had inquired about the front row because I could see from the map posted that that would be the ideal place to put him because there was room there. but i have been informed by him they "sold out" the whole first row and there will be folding chairs where there is blank space in the seating chart.

another issue came up between us which seems to have sidetracked the larger issue at hand which is getting the handicapped seat. i told him after i bought my ticket in AA thinking it was front row that i saw AAA 7 and 9 seats and knew that I didnt have front row anymore.

he said it was "impossible because those seats dont exist"

well I have appealed to him one last time with a long email appealing for him to help me out. if he can get derek to his HS surely he can pull 1 good ticket out for a handicapped person. i hope he backs up his word and comes up with a decent seat for my friend who is a double amputee and loves derek and lives in nyc with me.

vinsanity told me the whole front row will be taken up by students. well i am glad he found a place for all his friends. but i think making the facility handicapped accessible to someone who is a double amputee would be the right thing to do. the last thing i want is for him to be placed in the back like a second class citizen. he is my best friend and i watch out for him. he gets the royal treatment from the garden, seats at the lowest price to any msg show and upgrades for free to the back of the 200 level, front row seats to the beacon, radio city, and theater at msg. surely if they can do that for him, vinsanity can do something for my friend. i thinkhe did not think of the handicapped when he planned this event.

look at the chart and take away the front row. outside of seat AA 20 which has no chair, where can you put a wheelchair in there??

vinsanity did say that he would put my friend in the first 5 rows. then after i said i saw seats in AAA 7 and 9 (wish i had printed them out) he said no way. he made it about that and not about my friend's seat.

finally his last email to me said if you want a ticket sent an email to the gmail account set up for tickets and instructions will follow. felt like a cold shoulder to me. nothing yet from this address or the cc i sent him since, about 18 hours.

now if he fails to live up to his word i am going to pull out of backing this show. at $54 plus metro north travel/taxis it will get expensive and i will have to go alone.

so if i dont have a firm answer today i will sell my ticket in AA 6.

i would think if he made sure all the students were in the front row he would also make it legally accessible to the truly handicapped. i do hope he sticks to his word.

there will be more to follow from our email exchanges if i don't get this ticket today.

i also want to note he never bothered to send me a pm thank you for the 3 honeytribe shows i sent him. i had met him at the show and at 3 ABB shows and exchanged emails.

i think he is a decent kid but is missing the boat on this if he fails to come through.

i wrote him an email at 8 am and have had no reply. yesterday i received a reply in 30 minutes promising to give me a seat in the first 5 rows after he got home and looked at the seating chart. he did not do that, instead using the follow up email to dispute my claim of seeing AAA seats.

see my original post on this:

http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&am p;file=viewthread&tid=62280

thanks for listening,
ray

i sent him a second email

oh i should add that vinsanity did say that the first 3 rows center would also be folding chairs so he could put my friend there if he took out 2 chairs.

i think its a longshot this show will sell out anyway with the lack of publicity and ticketmaster access.

i sure am not going to use his mail order system and my friend's handicapped ticket blind.

please come through vin,
thanks and peace,
ray

thanks lolasdeb. i am giving him the opportunity to do the right thing and back up his own words. i dont want to have to quote the emails but i will if he fails to come through by the end of my workday at 4pm i will do so.

i say dont discriminate against the handicapped. there may be others who want to attend.

that front row is ideal for the handicapped, where nobody is in front of them.
thanks again for your support lolasdeb !

I can sympathize with your situation, but I would recommend giving him at least until tomorrow before you go any further, since he's probably at school and may not be able to check his email before 4

my friend kevin just told me that in a public building such as that school, to not have handicapped access is totally illegal.

i hope to reach a compromise with vin.

my friend says he can transfer to an aisle seat.

surely vinsanity there are plenty of those?

doesnt have to be first 5 rows he can sit where the best seat is on the right side or right side of the center orchestra

ok, but he emailed me from school yesterday, saying he would let me know when he gets home and looked at his seating chart and nothing. i think he will do the right thing too and also after i spoke to my friend sent vinsanity a compromise offer email saying that he could transfer to an aisle seat and it didnt have to be in the first 5 rows. just to do the best he could and get him seat 2 or 112 so he is on my side of the stage so i can wheel him in and out.

Ray - I can't take out seats that have been sold. This event wasn't organized for you and your friend Kevin, it was organized for the school. I will work on doing what I can, but in the meantime, calm down. Today is my last day of classes and I had a ridiculous amount of work yesterday to do. So I didn't send you a reply email last night or this morning while at school - big sh!t. I will do "what is right" as you so dubbed it, but I will do it when I have time. My school work is a hell of a lot more important then where you and your friend sit at a show I am organizing.

With regards to the "illegal to not have handicapped seating", there is plenty of room on all aisles, and normally, there is about 10 feet in front of the stage right in the center and about 8 feet on the right and left which is completely open. I am setting up folding chairs there. If you want to tell me that I can set up "more folding chairs" because I have more room in teh front row, I don't care - have you been to my high school auditorium? Hvae you put chairs there to measure out how much room there is? I don't think so. Mind your own business, you will get a reply once I am ready.

Firstly, there is a lot of buzz in my town about this. You don't live in my town, you don't know what is going on here. There is a lot of publicity you may not know about which may lead to sellout. Maybe you're just pissed off because I will sell it out and because I didn't email you back 6 minutes after I received your email.

If you don't want to use my mail order system, I don't care, you won't get a ticket. And if you don't come to the show, I don't care either, I already got the money for the charity, that is all I care about. I could have 1000 monkeys at my show and so long as they all paid, I wouldn't care. Your threat to sell your ticket means nothing to me.

thats a real adult attitude but if you were handling this show like someone with class you would know that the disabled have rights to access public buildings. and i needed to ask you for a ticket for him because i could not buy a handicapped ticket from the presale. and since i knew you a little and sent you some shows and had interaction with you and we had emailed and you were running the show i figured it would be a good idea to contact you.

but you dropped the ball on this one and you shouldnt try and screw the handicapped. they are entitled to be treated with dignity. so you calm down. your comments here show me how immature you really are even if youre 17.

1. Do you think that concert promoters care who comes to their shows?
2. Why should you be exempt from the ticket process through the official ticketing email address just because I met you?
3. I am not trying to "screw the handicapped" just because I didn't respond to you within 18 hours.

And if you'd like, you can continue to badmouth me all you want, it's not hurting me at all.

I highly doubt this show is going to sell out 5 1/2 months in advance. it just went onsale 3 days ago in the presale. maybe it will sell out--but not now and i will be happy if you will accomodate my friend with an accessible ticket.

this is nothing personal. i just take my tickets seriously and i bought mine 5+ months in advance. its not like i called you the day of the show and asked you for anything. this is early in the process and i dont know how many you sold but i wish you luck. even in venues where concerts sell out in minutes, tickets are always held for the handicapped.

like i said its not personal im just watching my friend's back.

i look forward to the end of this so we can go on and i can say thanks i look forward to the show.

please just give me the help i asked you for when you can,
thanks,
ray
