many many thanks to all that have PMd me with suggestions on what to do with my "mar y sol" tapes. i have "chosen" someone that is here in NC and close by me (because i don't want the tapes to leave my possesion (for various reasons) (that i am sure you all understand) and because i would like to learn more about recovering analog tapes to digital sources (so that i can recover more tapes that i have- by myself)- i have lots more tapes . she says that the tapes are in "amazingly great shape"considering that hurricane hugo tried to destroy them while i was in the Virgin Islands.

i have no idea how my tapes will convert- time wise that is- to CDs. i am overwhelmed with the responsibilities of deciding "who and what" to convert to CDs. obviously all the ABB will convert.

the "mar y sol" festival also had- "fleetwood mac, ELP, Cactus, BBKing, Dr. John, Poco, Black Sabbath, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Alice Cooper, J. Geils and Savoy Brown,,,,, just to name a few.

i can tell you all that this will be a very long project from me to you.

i will start with the ABB at "mar y sol".
and give the whole concert.
after that project is finished i think i might give a "best of Mar y Sol".

to give you an "uncalled for tease" (and it's not my recording) but it is "mar y sol" and it is the ABB playing "aint wasting time no more" please copy/paste this link=

"http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Arena/2398/"aint wasting time no more"

ok, i will trust Yurtle. as most of you know, if not all of you,,,, i am a "newbie" with computers, i am a "newbie" with the ABB website, but i am not a newbie as far as age or "fandom" goes,,,, since i am 50 years old! heck and all,,,, i can remember the "allman joys",,,,, i can remember BEING AT the "ludlow garage years". i can remember when i played in florida and the other band members mentioned "these great musicians" out of jacksonville. i will go back to lurking and working on my tapes. sorry for the interuption. we now resume our regular broadcast,,,,, i do so much hope that all of you enjoyed my little "shirty LP "aint wasting time no more" and i have the whole concert being worked on right now.

That's great new MD !

If you don't already know it by now you will soon, We here are blessed to have Skip Littlewood aka CaptSkipper who is a master at remastering these old shows. I would highly suggest that whenever you get any of those tapes converted, That you give him the opportunity to see what he can do to bring out the magic in them. You won't be disapointed!

dayabb et al- again and again, many many thanks for your very kind words and offers. i hope you realize why i have chosen to "keep" these tapes of mine close at hand. while it may strike you and others as "strange" or "territorial" i can assure you that it is only due to two reasosns. number one and most important,,,, i want to learn how to do it,,,,,, number two and no less important,,,,, i cherish the tapes and yada yada yada,,,,

very very soon I will have transferred the soundboard tapes of the ABB at "mar y sol" into a digital format and then onto a CD. i will then offer them as B&P.

in fact,,,, my partner tells me we are allmost done with the ABB at "mar y sol" so we will soon burn the first CD and see how it sounds.

i have decided that the next CD should be a compilation of blues" as in "cactus" and "jgeilsband" and "savoy brown" and the country sound of "poco".

while i cannot burn the expected responses- i can and will burn "freebies" for the first 20 that have read this far,,,,,,

if you have read this far,,,,, count off to 20 below and know that you will receive (as soon as i burn it,,,, you will be right after me to recieve/hear the disks) "the ABB at mar y sol"-

just leave your name and address at the door and the disks will soon be on the way-

yurtle (and all the others whose names i forget but have helped me in the few weeks i have been around here need not worry-i know your names from my PMs and you are not one of the "20"- heck and all,,, you were the ones that were kind to me from the beginning).

heck and all,,,,,, i hope everyone spreads this "mar y sol" around.

what else do you need but "mar y sol"?

love,
larwrence

The "Ain't Wastin' Time No More" from Mar y Sol is also on the Dreams box set.

I'm interested in getting a copy of the ABB's set from M-y-S when it's available, but I insist on sending blanks and postage. I'll PM for info.

In any case, thanks for this thread! It's very interesting.
