I just got our "$10" Allman tix and they ended up costing us $22. True, the tickets cost $10.25, but with all the rip-off fees, the price doubled. It's official, the fees we paid cost more than the tickets themselves. What a joke.

The Allman Brothers Band plus *FREE* poster FIRST WEEKEND OF ON SALE TICKET
US $10.25 x 5
Facility Charge US $6.00 x 5
Convenience Charge US $28.00
Delivery (Standard Mail) No Charge Order Processing Fee US $4.90
Total Charges US $114.15

The DVE site says the following....Post-Gazette Pavilion on Wednesday, August 15 for a 6:30 p.m. show. Lawn tickets are $10.25 courtesy of WDVE (plus a $6.00 parking fee). I'm guessing we don't have to pay to park now, but Starlake is going to make a mint off of this. A carload of 5 people now make them $30 instead of $10.

Is this a common practice around the country. Including the parking fees in the cost of the tix?

Getting ripped off? Yes it is.

I'm attending a Boston show w/ good ole' "ticket-bast*rd" sitting right next to me.

At least that's my assumption since my fees = the cost of another ticket.

Maybe TB'll buy me a beer. He'll have the cash but I'm sure I'll end up paying for it.

However they break it down, $22 sounds like a deal. I wish they would not break out the various charges and just give the net cost. I don't care where the money goes after I pay; that's up to all the players involved.

Paying twice as much as you thought you were going to. That doesn't sound like a deal to me. Although,$22 to see The ABB is a good deal.

It's not the price of the ticket, it's the principle of the whole thing. I called Ticketbastard and they don't even know if the $6 is for parking or if it's just a facility charge.

Oh, and I love the "convenience" charge as well. Where is the convenience in this? Running a website is a whole lot cheaper than paying people to man ticket booths. If anything it's just as convenient for them as it is me.

I'll voice my disapproval by attending as few concerts as possible...F-Ticketbastard!!!

The main problem I have with the charges as outlined by tfhello is the "facility charge" of $6.00 per ticket, which comes to $30.00 for the entire order. FOR WHAT?? Parking??
That really is a rip.

On the other hand, I must look at this objectively. Yesterday I was between two night shifts at my hospital job. Lynyrd Skynyrd tickets went on sale at Shoreline Amphitheater, about 18 miles from me. With my work schedule, I really couldn't make it over there, so for a $39.50 ticket I paid $15 in fees: $10.15 convenience charge, $4.90 order processing fee. That's a lot, but then again, all I had to do is walk down the hall to my office and turn on my computer to do it. I didn't have to disrupt my rest between shifts to do it, and that is a huge "CONVENIENCE." No gas money either, at $3.71 a gallon now for premium, for a 36 mile round trip. All in all I would rather have paid the $15 to buy them at home...........and FYI the DO have a service charge at the Shoreline box office, although it's only $4 per ticket. All in all, it was worth it for me to pay their fees.

But I would REALLY have a problem with a $6.00 facility fee X 5 tickets which "tfhello" paid.

going to the shows. if its going to piss you off, i dont see the point is all! its not like we HAVE to go. i'm not too happy about the stupid ass 'conveninece' charges either, but i know that i will have a good time at the show and that is worth it to me. its like, if you wanna play you gotta pay. Complaining about it seems futile to me, but thats just me. your mileage will vary. Attaching the theme of "Hate" to something means that you loathe doing it, and i dont see the point of attending something that you are gonna hate is all

Same with the "4 for $79" at PNC....for Steve Miller + Doobie Bros...I was planning on purchasing this deal until I checked out the extra charges....that $20 ticket jumped to $34+ after all the "fees"....besides buying lawn tix in advance can put you in the middle of a thunder storm/mud fest at PNC in August....so I'm just gonna wait to see what the forcast is and make a day of the show decision

Thx for the clarification Linnie.

I'll be at the shows having a great time as usual. Glad to pay the face value price. The fees, not so much.

I'm surprised by your "if you wanna play you gotta pay" comment. Not every fan has the resources to absorb these extra costs. A $10 ticket that ends up costing $22? That's a deal breaker for many folks these days.

As said, the various charges will just drive you crazy. Look at the bottom line and ask yourself, would I rather have $22, or see the ABB? Have you all priced a pkg of Oreos lately? THREE DOLLARS! And then sales tax of SIX PERCENT! We all prioritize purchase decisions and concerts are no different.

The charges won't ruin the concert for me or anything like that, but the day I buy the tix, I get pissed off because I pay more for the service charges than I do for the tickets themselves.

I also think the charges should be relative to the ticket prices. For instance, $10 tickets shouldn't have the same charges as the $100 ones. It's like paying the same amount of tax for a $10,000 car as it would be for a $30,000 one.

i know that i can't go to all of the shows i want to, but i make enough money to be able to attend a 22 dollar show. my opinion? if you cant afford 22 bucks to see your favorite band, you need to rethink going to shows, period.

I agree with you Linnie. There are many shows where the prices warrent complaints, but I don't think a $22 show falls under that category. I'll take the ABB or any other band I love for $22 any time. That price is a bargain. Come to NY and see what we pay. Definetly limits the amount of shows this music lover attends and the type of seats I can afford to buy. Usually cheap ones(except for the Beacon run).

$22 is very reasonable. Wish I could get a ticket at that price.

The point is that face value is $10. TM is charging 120% in fees.

what they really need to do is get away from pulling all these charges in after the fact, it's almost bait and switch... they should say these are $22 tickets clean and simple... no surprises... I don't care if it costs X or Y if I'm willing to pay it... but don't make it seem cheap and then say btw that'll be an extra $xx before we can sell you the ticket...

JCB is right and many of you are missing my point. The ticket price is great, out of this world, awesome, etc.

It's the FEES that have my blood boiling. I was waiting for the day the fees cost more than the face value of the ticket and that day has finally come.

Well if we aren't careful we may not have this "problem" in 10 years or less. As long as the Brothers feel like playing I'll feel like paying. I want the road to go on forever.
