I DL'd a 24 bit show from DIME, but am not sure how to re-sample to 16 bits, so I can burn from Nero- it won't let me burn audio directly from the 24 bit flac files.

Help please???

What is the sample rate? Probably 96KHz not 44.1Khz. You'll need to change
that as well. You need audio editing tools to make that conversion. I don't
know the details, but it's more complicated than dropping 8 bits. There is a
process called dithering that adjusts the 16bit result based on the 24bit
data.

I have Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and it has the ability to dither. Don't think I have ever used that feature though. I've had the program for years and there are tons of features that I have never tried.

I use Screenblast Sound Forge. I do a "Save As". (File>save as) A box pops up giving me the option to choose the attributes to 44,100 HZ 16 bit stereo (And a few others) It also gives me the option to choose the destination folder, Name, File type, Format, etc. Other than that, I don't know.

I don't think it's free. It came bundled with my Sony Viao.

Audacity is free, but I've never used it.

Here is a link to some free applications.

Many thanks for your PM'd advice--- using Nero Wave Editor (which I already have). Just had to open the file, select all, and save AS after setting the bit rate option.
