What would it be? I'm interested to see what different people would ask Derek if they only had the chance to ask him one question.

Right now, I'd ask him if the Allmans are booked to play the Gathering of the Vibes cause I really, really, really want them to be on the bill

Really, I do!

How did he learn to play that distinctive finger picking, slide guitar style? I have never seen anyone else play that way.

Are there any plans to release any further ABB or DTB DVD's?

I'd ask technical questions about his exclusive playing in open-E tuning on the guitar to compare/contrast it with my own use of that tuning.

i'm not one to really ask about a person's drug use normally. But knowing the Brother's past history with substances and their apparent soberness now I'd ask him this:

What influence on your music, if any, has drugs influenced your style of playing.

I've seen a lot on the technical style but his artistic ability transcends beyond what I could ever imagine sober.

I know you'd rather hear it from him, but I've asked him that one in the past- he says he just developed it on his own. He used to use a pick while playing lead, but gave it up gradually because he kept dropping it during slide parts. I asked specifically if he knew that Hubert Sumlin played without a pick, since we know he likes Hubert Sumlin - but Derek said he hadn't known that until recently.

Derek, You've worked hard to carve out your own place as a guitarist and have worked hard to stay true to your own unique vision. Sometimes it seemed you we resistant to the "next Duane Allman" thing. In the last year or so it seems, from the Clapton tour, your role in the ABB and the changes in the DTB setlists recently that you're getting more comfortable with directly carrying the legacy of Duane Allman. How do you see your vision and Duane's legacy interrelating?

Since Marley mentioned Hubert Sumlin, who happens to be playing at our local little blues club this weekend out on Long Island, and Susan and Derek were in NYC for the gig with Marsalis, my question is...
Will you and Susan hang in NY til Sunday and come out and play with Hubert?
How sweet would that be? Then I'd ask him if he liked to sit down to a great pulled pork sandwich and throw back a few.
