'68 Pontiac Ventura, green, bought in '76. No working gas guage or speedometer. The starter went out shortly after I bought it. When we replaced it, we forgot to put the shims in, so the car made a loud whistle every time I started it. Lotta good memories from that car!

1965 Volkswagon Beetle with a Baja kit on it, and a chrome stinger exhaust. Between 1986 and 1988, I remember driving that thing to see some great concerts. I drove it to Lakeland, FL several times (I grew up in Orlando) to see ZZ Top, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, etc.

I rolled it 3 times in 1988 after a heavy night of drinking, last day of 10th grade. Lucky to be alive because that thing was not manufactured with seat belts. I think Volkswagon started putting seat belts in them around 1968, from what I understand?

Mine looked like this, but white in color...

'61 Chevy Corvair.

I was 15....Brought it for 50 bucks from working a paper route. Back in those days, in my state, we couldn't participate in gainful employment until we reached the magic age of 16, when we could also drive. At 16, to work, we had to get a work permit.

My cousin & I would drive it between my Grandfather's & Great Grandfather's driveways for hours on end, honing our shifting skills, dreaming we were Mario Andretti & looking cool as we cruised for chicks.

A cream and white 1970 Buick Skylark hardtop. The Buick version of the Monte Carlo. Bought used in '76 as a Jr. in HS and had an absolute blast in that car. AM radio only, but I bought a stand alone cassette and FM radio. Quite cool for the day.

My first car was a 1983 Grand Prix. I hated that thing but my dad, who gave it to me, loved it. I wrecked it twice and he had i fixed and then gave it to my sister.

1968 Volkswagen Beetle (with a Sun Roof ). The car was totaled by a drunk while I was at work. I remember holding the guy (and wanting to beat the Sh!t out of him) waiting for the Cops to come. When they arrived, they were surprised that I hadn't beat the snot out of him. As one of them put it, "I sure would have!"

Upside to the story? I paid $400.00 for the car and got $1,600.00 from the Insurance Co.
