I may be jumping the gun here.... But, are the Brothers seriously NOT going to play Ohio this year?????? I can't remember the last time I haven't seen an ABB show somewhere in the great Buckeye state!!!

Do they plan on announcing more tour dates or is this all we're getting this year? Better bring my a$$ to the Beacon next year huh??

Peace

I think they are still working out the schedule. Derek, Warren, Oteil and Greg all have solo tours scheduled this summer so I'm sure it takes time to work out tour dates and logistics for the Brothers' shows. I would be surprised if the Brothers don't tour more than they are presently scheduled for. Aside from their dates in Michigan and Colorado, they are not presently scheduled to play a show west of Pennsylvania. I can't believe that they won't add more concerts.

what makes me mad is that they are playing NOWHERE in the South. Last time I checked they are THE Southern Band. are gregg, butch, and jaimoe forgetting that the band is from that little town of Macon, GA? It's almost like they are forgetting where they came from. All their songs were written in the South with Southern references. All I'm sayin is bring it back home boys!

I think a stop in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia will happen. They do need to go to the areas they have hit the least. I can understand these folks feelings. I got my Allman on this year at Wanee. But could always use more.

Aren't they originally from Florida?

Lana posted something in a thread from another section re: dates in the south which sounds like more dates to be announced.

Gotta agree.....hard to believe that no Ohio dates planned. Very credible news circulating around here that this will be the last year for the Polaris Ampitheatre in Columbus.....or "Germaine" ...whatever they call it now....supposed to be ...'bull-dozed ' after this year's season. The ABB haven't played there in a couple of years I think, but hard to believe Cincy left out as well. The way the schedule has been 'dribbling' out....one date at a time--this late in the season--has made it very hard to plan...or CONSIDER planning attending any shows this year. Not very good planning or "PR" it would seem. Perhaps I'm panicking too soon!

I'm a little set back by this,also

I'm used to at least catching a Cincy & a Cleveland ABB show over the summer w/ maybe an Indy ABB show too....
but this year there is nothing announced so far.
My Mama & Papa turned me onto the Allman Brothers Band as a child because they used to catch them at the Ludlow Garage in Cincy....& I have in turn shared my love of the ABB with my children.
I would think that somewhere out there that they could squeeze a Cincy show into the schedule.

I'm not giving up all hope this year, nor am I holding my breath. I guess if worse comes to worse, I could always take a day off of work and journey over to MI and see em at Pine Knob, or whatever it is called now. I saw them there a few years ago when I was in law school, great venue. Actually, it may have been more than a few years ago now that I think about it..... Dickey was still in the band...

Christ I'm getting old....

The ironic part of this is that there seems to be a 'buzz' in the air--at least in this area--about the "Allman Brothers''. Not sure if it's connected to Derek's successes, or the Mule or what....but there seems to be this segment of the population that has been totally clueless as to what's been happening with 'our' band over the past several years. But, now people that normally don't talk about the band, seem to be getting fired up. If they don't come thru the area....that 'buzz' may be put back in the can for who knows how much longer. "Strike while the iron is hot" as the saying goes.....guess I may be missing something.

When I lived in Ohio (ten years ago) we used to go to Riverbend in Cincy just about every year to see the ABB. Is Riverbend still open?

Now I live in Alabama and have only seen the Bros twice since I have been here. Once In Birmingham about 1997 and again in Huntsville two years ago. They used to play Birmingham every year but have stopped altogether. Not sure why, but I agree that it seems kinda ironic that they started here in the south (Florida/Georgia) but don't play here much. Thank Jah for Wanee or they might skip the area altogether.

Hello there good friend Krishna,

I'm getting a bit bummed about this as well. I just took it for granted that they would be playing Cleveland or Cinci this year. Both are 2 hours away so it did not matter which to me. I would even see them at Germain in Columbus, a venue I loath, at this point. I missed a chance to see them in Erie, PA last year so I am way overdue....
