Hey, I'll have to be up at 5 and at work at the same time as your test. You make sacrifices for these shows once in a while.

You are right. Sam Taylor should not be missed. He is a great entertainer. He is also not given enough credit for his career. The man has written or produced for some of the all time greats. Here's a little tidbit of info that I read last year in the New York Times. He is the person who whistles in Otis Redding's Sittin on the Dock of the Bay. He played with Otis for many years. Check out his website also @ http://www.bluzman.com/

Sam opened for the dTb a few years ago on Long Island in a very strange venue - SportsPlus. Sam was having some fun, though, and so were we! Will be nice to see him in the bat cave.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Westbury shows never run too late.

Does anyone know if this show is w/ Susan Tedeschi also? I doesn't say so, I'm hoping for at least a few songs.

Not likely. In April Susan was on the road and Derek was with the kids at home. This month they will probably switch roles. Would be sweet though, wouldn't it? What a better way to work out the kinks for the Soul Stew tour than to do a couple of numbers in front of a live and appreciative New York area audience?

...despite it being a major sit-down enviroment, this is a can't miss situation to see Derek play...excellent acoustics...great sightlines from every seat...good selction of beverages...and if the sun is out, the parking lot can be a fun place to hang pre-show...

...i CAN'T WAIT for this gig!!!!

Saw Sam last year at the Riverhead Blues Festival. Definitely worth getting there to see before Derek. See ya all there!

Might I suggest going to the Westhampton show Friday instead. Might be a bit more of a drive, but then you don't have to worry about the test early the next day. I was planning on the same thing myself, until I discovered I had another, bigger test on Monday. Though I guess AP tests don't really matter all that much for you, unless you were really hoping to place out of that class.

I'm finding Web sites that say 2700-2800. That sounds high, but you get a good view anyway.

Okay, so 1300 or 1400 people, maybe?

There's no reason to think she is. The Soul Stew tour hasn't started yet.
