i saw the Racounters--they were super--the Stripes are better--the energy, the power, the bluesy underbelly of the songs,Jack's lead playin & jams, the power of two players...eccentric & cool--my son turned me on to them & i go with him..we love Jack & Meg...what can be bad about a group of young musicians who play ELMORE JAMES on the PA before the show!!!

I like The White Stripes. I consider myself a fan.

Jack is a talented musician , with a great sense of history. ( I love the record he produced for Loretta Lynn, Van Lear Rose.)

I'm sure a White Stripes concert would be a lot of fun. I'd go.

I haven't seen Dylan in concert since 1999 ; but I heard he's played Ball And Biscuit at some of his shows. Anybody heard that? Dad?

I like the White Stripes. I took my oldest son to see them right after the last cd came out. It was a good show, and I'd see them again.

I really appreciate the way Jack White found a different way to interpret the blues in an updated garage rock sort of way. He's helped connect a new generation to the blues. In my book, that's one of most important things a rock musician can do.

i'm curious to see them, as i wonder if they can pull off the feeling of their studio releases In Real Life, after all there is only two of them, and alot of "Get Behind Me Satan" has a high production value.

I have always enjoyed the White Stripes. There are definitely heavy blues roots there. Their influences are very broad, and I think that makes for very interesting song writing. They do a cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" that is out-of-this-world! Jack's blues roots were further illustrated last night when I saw the Raconteurs on Austin City Limits. That show was AMAZING! They did one very bluesy tune at the end that was unbelievable. I'm a new convert. I was never very sure of them from the stuff I heard on the radio, but now I'm a fan. I'll have to go see both bands now, for sure.

EDIT: "Blue Veins" is the blues tune from the Raconteurs. Check it out, it is a sick tune.

Manitou, Jeff Beck chose the White Stripes to be his backing band at the career retrospective/ Jeff Beck tribute at the Royal Albert Hall a few years back. Beck has always been able to get the best players for his groups over the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s, so the thinkg to do is to get inside Jeff's head. Why did the guy who can get anybody pick the White Stripes? Clearly he was not thinking from a who-can-do-the-most-paradiddles angle -

Add me to that list. At times there are elements that are decent but that is usually because they are "borrowing" from another artist. Prefer the Raconteurs but they often sound like a bad Led Zeppelin. That Blue Veins song for example "borrows" heavily from Zeppelin.

Not bad just over-rated IMO. Staying in key would be nice.

Maybe Beck got them to open so he would seem even better after them.

I got a few promo copies of a White Stripes album and couldn't give them away. The few I did give out were either returned, hated or left unopened.
