I don't really get the whole DMB thing myself. I know they are very popular and critically aclaimed, but I don't get it. I admit that I haven't seen them since NYE back in 94 maybe, but I was totally disappointed with the show. I liked most of Under the Table and Dreaming, but not much since then. I've really tried to get into their music over the years, but it just goes in one ear and bugs the heck out of me. I pretty much feel the same way about PHISH too. Saw them a couple of times, pre and post break up and just don't get it. I saw Trey with a full band, horns, etc. a few years back and loved it. Reminded me of Frank Zappa a little. Saw him again with a smaller band and he was awful. Just not my thing I guess. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. I know these two bands in particular have been bantered about in this manner many o time on this site, but I just never felt the need to interject anything on them.

Can someone try and explain it to me because I really would like to understand what all the hype is about on both of these bands. Remember, be gentle, my mind isn't what it once was. At least, I seem to remember something about remembering, but I forgot what that was.

Cool vid Jeff. I'm sure Woodyrumble will post what wusses we are for liking Dave's music on this thread. He is too manly to listen to DMB. He must think Warren Haynes is not manly enough for being a fan of Dave's also.

Awesome! I love the little speech he made before the song.

So you just like anyone who plays w Warren? Pretty lame you have no taste of your own. You accused me of not liking more than Mule and ABB, I threw out names you prob'ly never heard of and yet you have the audacity to try to bring me up w/o my own comments. Why not just celebrate your man love of DM on your own w/o me? I simply recounted my exprience of seeing him at Farm Aid: a bunch of young men hanging on each other screaming out of tune (less in tune than Dave that is) and yelling obscenities at him when he sang a tune they didn't know, nervously. If you are not secure in your sexuality enough to handle it, thats your issue. I don't go to shows to yell at the performers, during song especially. I witnessed what several people told me is customary. You seem to be sensitive and emotional about it. Come out of the closet, you'll feel better, no one will judge you adversely for it, Pete. It'll help you soothe that rough edge in personality you exhibit.

Yeah, Dave always tells good little stories about songs. Sometimes he will also tell stories about absolutely nothing. Here is one of them from Saturday night's show:

I have a bulldog and umÖ not like a little tiny one of those things, not a pocket bulldog, big one of those big things. Adam Sandler also has a bulldog but his one, you know, in my opinion, mine is more beautiful than his. Nonetheless, mine farts like a pack of lions. Yes indeed. Lord, lord, help. So then Iím in the bathtub, which is a place I like to, because, and I feel guilty Ďcause Iím in the bathtub cause I feel like Iím in the bathtub and itís kind of wasteful to sue that much water so I stay in the bathtub for like 4 hours and then if Iím in there for 4 hours I feel like ďWell itís not that much of a waste because I was in here for 4 hoursĒ. If, if I divided that up into your average half hour bath, thatís eight baths that are this deep just stacked on top of each other to one 4 hour bath. And I donít take them all the time but then now what happens is Iím in the bathtub and Iím pondering the superior source of the universe and all that stuff, and, and, you know, lookiní at bubbles and then, and then, and then my dog sees, cause she loves me, comes into the bathtub and settles down and just ruins my peace, just baths away, just sits there cuttiní the doggy cheese all night long. And you know, and you canít get mad, because sheís not like a me, cause I know when to do it, like not in the gym cause thatís anti-social. Donít fart in the gym. I get so mad if, I donít go to the gym very often sometimes I just walk through it to pretend, anyway. But, but, you know, if you smell a fart in the gym itís like ďNow what the, who did this? Donít do this in the gym.Ē I get furious. Iím, in my head, I get (indecipherable muttering) itís like in the library, donít fart in the library. Go outside to the great outdoors and **** ing fart. If youíre with friends, fart away.

Oh, and just one note, if you watch this video, there is no way that Dave is anywhere close to out of tune. He sounds perfect and this is a VERY HARD song to sing, any Neil song is. Dave sounds perfect on this.

What is your problem dude. I am very comfortable with my heterosexual lifestyle. I'm not so sure about you though since you keep bringing it up. You obviously must have something against gay people as well as Dave Matthews fans. You don't like Dave or his fans, we get it. Stay home next time. You sound like a negative person and the nasty PM you sent me was not nessesary. You can call me a pu$$y all you want and I'll just take the high road. If you don't like me fine. I'm not here to make enemies, I'm here to make friends. I'm offering up a truce here and if you want to take it fine. If not then have a nice life.

Pete
