Just thought I would ask some of the brothers and sisters here if they like long hair on old guys. I'm 42 and my hair is longer than ever before. I'm getting pressure from the wife and my children for a hair cut. My 12 year old son says I look like a girl and my daughter says I look like Ozzy. When I meet my wife I had short hair and she hates long hair. It seems like me and the guys at work are the only ones that like it. I find short hair easier to take care of but now I'm to the point to see how long I can get it. Is this a case of vanity or what?

If you still have it at 42, keep it.

I'm 47 until next month.

I get my hair cut twice a year.

And only that often because the wife bitches.

I couldn't believe the number of bald classmates I had at my 20th reunion.

I wasn't one of them.

heh heh.

I started growing my hair as a protest.
I hadn't received a raise in 3 years, and vowed not to cut it until getting one.
Any time anyone would ask, I'd give them the same answer we received when we asked about raises: "It's not in the budget"
It was all to no avail. My hair grew for 18 months, and we didn't get raises. I finally had to cut it because it was getting to be such a pain in the ass. It was hard to take care of, and I'd wake up in the middle of the night because it's get caught on my shoulder blades.
Still no raises and now I get my hair cut when it needs it.
But sometimes I regret not sticking to my guns.

I like long hair. Johnny would wear his longer if he wasn't allergic to the hair that gets in his eyes!

Oh its hurt my professional life over the years and still to this day many can't figure out why, which is exactly the way it should be. eventually "they" realize that regardless of how ya look you are making them some money - the hjow ya look part over time just vanishes. make em moeny - and they stand down. they dont like it but they stand down

Do you work at an airline, gave up 17 percent pay, 7 holidays, a week of vacation, save your company 1.7 BILLION dollars a year only to have the top execs split 219 million dollars of the 239 million dollar profit made last year ?

As a white guy who happens to be nappy headed (can I say that?), long hair does not work for me and I've tried, think the Mod Squad's Link. Anyway, I sort of enjoy being a short haired stealth hippy. The young man at the Beacon next to me said, as I lit up, "I never would have expected you to..."

Most bald guys I know dream about having their hair back and tell me to let it grow but their not the ones that have to keep it up. If you wear your hair in a pony tail all the time why would it matter, it might as well be short.

So, what's the use in having sexy long hair if you have to wear one of those things! Kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Almost Cut My Hair Lyrics by David Crosby

Almost cut my hair
It happened just the other day
It's gettin kinda long
I coulda said it wasn't in my way
But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Cause I feel like I owe it to someone

Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking at my mirror and seeing a scar
But I'm not giving in an inch to fear
Cause I missed myself this year
I feel like I owe it to someone

When I finally get myself together
I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather
And I find a place inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff
I feel like I owe it to someone

I'll be 50 in June & my hair's down the middle of my back. I've gotten a promotion & 2 raises where I work. Even the women who work there have shorter hair than me
