This has probably been asked many, many, times already. And if so and someone can point me in the direction of a previous post, I'd appreciate it. But, When I watch Denza's dvd of the RRHOF video introduction of the band I see at least 2 short segments of video of the band that is not Fillmore 12/70 and is also not Love Valley (at least not from the same camera as the footage Dennis has included in the video). One short segment shows Duane playing with some horn players in the background. Another shows the band from slightly above and stage right (sort of over Gregg's right shoulder). What is the origin of these clips and, more importantly, is there more from those sources? Also, wasn't there some talk on this site about a year and a half ago about the imminent release of some video? Maybe (if I'm remembering correctly) synching some improved audio from Love Valley or Atlanta Pop Festival to the "Love Valley" video (I'm enclosing it in quotes because I think the talk at the time was that it might actually be from Atlanta Pop Festival). Did it turn out that nothing came of all of that, and I have just been hoping in vain or maybe missed a post with the bad news? Or, is there still reason to be hopeful?

Dennis or Clay. or anyone else in the know? Thanks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWQqnaAWs1M

i'm pretty sure there's some more footage, not much, but more than there is now.
and i know for a fact that there's some hourglass footage that will be ready to put out sometime this year.

Thanks, Clay. That's great footage. I have seen it before (thanks to you!), but I know it's a fairly new discovery. How about those segments from the RRHOF video introduction? Do you know if there is any more form those 2 parts I described?

It's very exciting to hear that some Hourglass footage exists. I can't wait to see that!

Great footage, Clay, but:
a) How do we know that it's 5/1/71? There's no setlist listed for that day, and there's no indication, from the footage, that it's said date. Just curious.
b) Who is playing the electric piano in the background? It sure doesn't sound like Gregg. Was there a guest? Steve Miller, perhaps?

Thanks!

I've also uploaded my versions of the Love Valley, I attached this from 3 different audio sources (Denza's, masaihiko's and the 2 cd show set) and blended the 2 video sources that are available as they have different shots. I know some of them are in the wrong place , but i matched them up as they were originally. I also redid the audio's, got rid of the horrid hum, and remixed the sounds to try and get the best out of them.

bear in mind i had to recomopress to post - so its slightly more out of sink and less quality to what i have here.

without getting into a whole lot of detail, but i've doon enough 007 type investigating to believe that it is indeed the correct date. i'm 100% sure

Nice work Luther! Sure wish something else would come out, but as Kirk told me the boys were interested in other things instead of video.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
About the short segment showing Duane playing with some horn players in the background, I believe that footage is on the CMT special "History of Southern Rock" too...

I found a couple of pics several months ago, here they are:

These pics are from the 1969 jams at the Forest Inn, Jacksonville, Florida. Duane with the Second Coming...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that footage could be from this shows??? Take a look at Duane's clothes...

This one's interesting, looks like the Fillmore and it also looks like Johny Winter that steps out with them at the end. No sound though.

Hi Dave,

You did a really good job, I really enjoyed.

I think this film was from someday at 3/11 - 3/13/71, fillmore East.
Checking shows list of fillmore east, you will find this term were the only dates ABB and Johnny Winter played across.

Thanks,

Oh man! It kills me to see some of this video and think of what it would have been like had we had the video equipment back then that we have today! I have never seen this last (soundless) one at FE before. Thanks for sharing it.

Do we know about this one ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntRRCB5HFBw

It was labelled as central park , different set? the sound is different and Duane is wearing a different shirt.

This is from the 7/21/71 Early Show ... the other link you posted earlier in this thread is 7/21/71 Late Show. Although it is dark, if you look carefully at the Late Show shots you can see the stage canopy struts in the background are the same as those that are clearly visible in the Early Show shots ...
