Only went once but had a great time. Top notch event as far as I'm concerned.

Linnie - wish I was going to this but can not due to other obligations. I have a friend who attends every year though and he swears this is one of the most fun music festivals he's ever been to (and he's been to a lot)! He and his buds rent an RV and park it somewhere in vicinity of fest for easy access (and sporadic sleeping ). Judging from the line-up ... no-brainer. Chicagofan (Julie) was talking previously about maybe attending with her kid...don't know if that's still a plan of hers. There's a thread in the AG Archives on this years show ... may be some who have indicated there that they are attending. Enjoy if you do go!

Hell, the Tall Stacks Music festival here in Cincy had an a amazing lineup and it was $25 for all four days. Music get-togethers do happen like this out in this country if you look for them. Jazzfest in New Orleans is less than $30 a day and well worth it. Good lineup in Beal, Ohio Players from up the road have been ggging again, Koko Taylor and Bobby Bland can still bring it, The Duhks from Canada and the Old CRow Medecine Show will be keeping up the funky string band end of it rocking, the bigger names will be ripping it, and God Bless Elvin Bishop, one of the best gigs I've seen when I caught up with him at Jazzfest a few years ago. Ultimately, I'd tie a side trip to Reelfoot to the deal, the oxbow full of slabs, if I were ever to make this jaunt to Memphis happen.

DH

wharfy you can drive down to philly and help share the ride.....2000 miles round trip, thats about $250 in gas, a 15 hour drive.....my friend joled suggested the trip and there is room for four of us, we would all split the room on fri-sat...

i'm thinking four ways it could be less than 300 each.....

3-day passes are actually $66 this year (including all fees) - prices went up this year....the horrror! I think they're $81 if you wait until after 5/1 to buy them.

This'll be my 12th BSMF and I highly recommend going if you get the chance.
