I know a lot of people on here dislike Dave, I really like him and am probably going to see him 7 or 8 times this year in total, but I think this is something everyone can appreciate.

Also a big Dave fan...not sure why he isn't liked here. Hope to catch him at least once this tour.

On the night that John Lernon died, I went to my record player (yes, record player) and this was the first song I played as I sat and cried over such a senseless loss. I love the song, I love it that someone of the stature of Dave would do such an obviously loving tribute to one of the great songwriters ever - thank you for posting this for us to listen to.

I like this tune, I like Dave's playing ...wide open chords. I saw a TV special with him and one other acoustic player, I don't know the other guys name but he made firewood out of his Martin.

Was probably Tim Reynolds, I have no idea about the making firewood, but I do know that the other acoustic player that he ever plays with is Tim Reynolds. If you liked it and want a very relaxing CD, Live at Luther College is one of my favorites.

I'm sure Dave is a great guy. He's written some catchy tunes. He covers a tremendous song here. But I cannot stand his voice. He's struggling to carry this tune. Not sure how this would change my opinion of his talents. Actually I think I'd rather take a hot poker to my eye than to listen to him play more than 20 minutes solo acoustic.

I do. I got a lot of money for my Bar Mitzvah (donated $2000 to charity but kept the rest), make money from caddying, and it doesn't hurt that I just won a lot from my NCAA pool. I have paid for every single concert I have ever been to (ABB, DMB, everyone) except for those that my parents attend with me or those that I have gotten tickets to as presents.

Thanks for sharing this, vinsanity - this is one of my all time favorite songs. I personally like Dave - have seen him live with his band a few times - always good shows. (btw - Dave and Tim Reynolds live at Luther College is a phenominal CD).

I normally get to 7 or 8 shows a year, but am cutting down this year to catch other bands instead. Used to hit spac, camden, boston & NYC, but am just going to camden this year.

Farm Aid's at Randall's Island this year? I didn't know that.

You know what they say, opinions are like ass&oles, everyone has one. So your bottom line comment holds no water dude. In my opinion Dave Mathews is extremely talented and his band is a jam band. I have seen them a few times and they certainly jam.
