Does anyone else experience this every year like me. At around six o'clock every night I start shaking, looking for reasons to go catch the train to NYC. At eight o'clock I start getting cold sweats. At eight thirty the lights go down in my head. Oh my God !!! I need a Beacon fix. Guess I'll have to wait for Hot Tuna in November. The only remedy for this is the circulation of the recordings from the 2007 Beacon run. I hope they start surfacing soon.

Pete

oh hell yeah, my wife thinks im nuts. she says- you went to 5 shows[she went to 1] you have been listening to them everyday since jan, you plan on going in the summer. how can you miss going to the beacon 5 times in 3 weeks. i just tell her she does not get it, so she laughs and says i guess not. a week ago tonight was my last show of the run and it does suck. i am sure a lot of us are going thru it. just crank the c.d.s and wait for summer

For those of use who are not lucky enough to go to Wanee (hair of the dog cure), try to get by on the anticipation of trading for shows you did not see, and wait until May, when you can get a DTB fix.

Eileen - here is link to DTB site (believe he's keeping tour info updated there):
http://www.derektrucks.com/tour_info.html

Also, have read that he and Susan will be merging for Soul Stew shows this year ... don't know if all scheduling of that in place yet.

Neither Derek's nor Susan's sites are often current. A better source is Pollstar.com
Derek:
http://pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?Content=A-DERTRU&StartSearch.x=13 &StartSearch.y=9&Date_From=Today&Date_To=04-11-2009&By=Arti st&PSKey=Y
Susan:
http://pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?Content=A-SUSTED&StartSearch.x=10 &StartSearch.y=11&Date_From=Today&Date_To=04-11-2009&By=Art ist&PSKey=Y

but even they don't have all the info. Susan is playing the Ridgefield Playhouse on August 25th, and I have not seen that listed anywhere, other than the Playhouse site:

http://www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org/venue.asp?eventID=471

BTW this is a very small and intimate venue, not all that far a drive from NYC.

As Eric can tell you, Susan is also playing the Cape cod Melody Tent in August

The Soul Stew tour will probably be making it to the Northeast in the fall, but no dates yet scheduled.

oh hell yeah, my wife thinks im nuts. she says- you went to 5 shows[she went to 1] you have been listening to them everyday since jan,

Sounds like your wife could "comiserate" with my wife. In fact, I can only listen to ABB when she's out of the house now, since she's getting a slightly annoyed look whenever they are on the stereo (everyday since tickets went on sale). I love it whenever she says "how many times can you listen to them??!"..Guess the answer is forever! Yeah..Got some wicked Beacon withdrawl..Envious of those at Wannee this weekend..Summer shows seem so long away.

Possibly re-create Beacon vibe at home? Make room dark and smoky...throw some beer and Caro Syrup on the floor for that extra sticky/skunk beer smell, have my neighbor next door keep yelling "Whipping Post" at the top of his lungs while whisitling really loud...Put on some live ABB at full volume and listen to some schweet music

My wife is just like everyhting above. She told me to get over my childhood, stop going to shows, stop trading cd's and to grow up and be a man.

LOL - Eileen, next time he mentions it remind him - it could be shoes (manolo blahnik?) or handbags (louis vuitton?) and he will quickly see the wisdom of your ways!

I'm still running on the warm Beacon afterglow and expect it to last a good long while, say 6 months, to Beaquinox, when I can start to get excited about 08(I hope).
