So I broke down, got the big, high-def tv and have been trying to be less of a tv snob and watch some shows that I've heard good things about. I admit it, I'm hooked on Friday Night Lights...love that show. Now I love it a little less. I'm just sitting there enjoying the quirky people and quirky camera angles and we get a scene of the coach sitting at his desk, feet on desk. Then we get a beautiful close-up of the bottom of his sneakers and the HUGE UnderArmour branding on said sneakers. Funny, just today I read in ESPN mag. that UnderArmour is launching a new shoe line.....amazing!

This love/hate relationship is going to kill me!

This is off-topic (though likely linked on a deeper level), but isn't it a shame that the movers, shakers and builders of today no longer think that things like this are necessary:

Nice thoughts, Randy. I love old theatres like this. I guess that one's really old!

Most of my TV watching is a very few sporting events a week. I haven't watched a "regular" TV show since I saw every episode of "Twin Peaks".

Boy, the commercials that FOX plays during football games are some scary stuff!

I work with sixth-graders, as many of you know, and what they think is acceptable is just astounding. I can think of one source for all of that junk and trashy behavior and language.

TV wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the dang commercials. What a waste of time, except of course for the people getting paid to make them. If it weren't for other people in the house there would be a lot more LOUD MUSIC...

A funny TV note.....

I recently adopted one of my Husky dogs out to a ranch to companion a male dog who had lost his lifelong dog buddy. It went really well, and the funny thing is for 4 to 5 hours a day, the dogs are left unattended in the nice ranch house. So the owners leave the TV on for company for the dogs. The guy turns it to the Western Channel or whatever it is called. So the dogs evidently lay there watching old cowboy movies and Bonanza shows. I wonder if they like the horse scenes the best.......

Dogs do like tv according to my old boss from the real estate office. He said his dog would move a bean bag so it was under the skylight and he could sun himself and watch tv while he was gone. He said he did not turn it on for the dog, but whenever he came home the tv set was hot (and that was not under the skylight to be getting any rays from the sun) and that bean bag was always moved right in front of it. Don't know if the dog used the remote or not.
