Is it me or after having been to a couple shows last week and seeing the photos posted, Gregg looks quite similar to the way he appeared in the early 90's, a clean version. He has definitely lost weight, but also lost it in the face, as well. Has anyone noticed this either?

Gregory has been paying close attention to his health over the last 2 years... diet, excercise, etc.
He has lost weight, trimmed up and is feeling very good these days with increased energy and a desire to do more shows and travel.
Last year saw 3 legs in his Gregg Allman & Friends touring, concluding with a trip (4 showdates) in Hawaii.
He has recently been working on material for a new GA album and, besides the upcoming NW dates he has booked, is seriously considering a trip to Europe later this year, Italy (Rome, Millan, Florence) and possibly into Paris, Germany, and the UK.

I was thinking this myself. He sounded so clear at the GA&F show at the Norva earlier this year. He was also in a smaller setting where he didn't have to sing so loud, but still. His voice has gotten better as the weight's come off. My first ABB shows were in 1998 and '99 and you could see his HUGE pot belly out in front of him when he walked onstage. I mean, you could see it from the lawn. Maybe this'll be the year he and Kirstie Ally finally collaborate on a Jenny Craig commericial

Yes ("That's my name"), but he does accept that he is most widely known as Gregg, so he has little problem with that either.

I heard people actually cheering him mid song when he'd hit the high notes at the 3/30 and 3/31 shows. Gregg's still got it.

Gregg's vocals were probably the highlight of the 2 shows I saw. When you hear the tapes, notice the sustain and the power. Noticable at the time.

Too late, Valerie Bertinelli (the former Mrs. Edward Van Halen) has beat him to it. Saw a little blurb about it at vhlinks.com.

I must say I was very impressed with Gregg's voice at the Beacon show I saw last year. He sang the hell out of "Desdamona." You could've heard a pin drop in the place as it seemed everyone was just enjoying his vocal after I think, Warren's solo.....Even the rude people shut up for a few minutes.

I have a DVD of the ABB from 1991 in Germany and Gregg looks about ten years older than he looks now. Him and Dickey both look like they got hit by a train in 91'. Gregg looks and sounds as good as he has since I've been seeing them in 1992.

Agree.

It really stood out to me how great Gregory looked and sounded.

Hey Dave…does he drink fresh vegetable juice?

If not, he should try it. Outside of giving up the drink/drugs, and maybe meditating, its probably the best thing to improve health.

PS – Thanks so much for taking the time to come on this board and fill us in. I’m sure we all appreciate it immensely.

PSS – And tell whoever works on the sound for the shows that they are doing a great job.

I think that is what Jaimoe calls him or when he is referring to Gregg.
