April 19, The Haunt in Ithaca!

That's were Benjamin, Mikey & I saw DTB and Grace Potter.

Maybe if I get in touch with Devon before hand, my camera lens won't be too big this time.

We saw Devon for the first time Friday night at BB's. Great show and even nicer to hear he's gonna come out and play our little Blues Festival out in Riverhead. Thank you Honeytribe.

Really could do with some better details of this ... was priveleged to speak with Devon last Saturday but he could not expand any further at the time.

"Kent" is a county in England, not a town ... when I googled it I came up with the the town of "Deal" ... which is a small coastal town and I cannot believe Devon would come all the way from USA to play there.

When talking with him, he was of the oppinion that it was the "Astoria" in London (not "Astor" in Kent) ... but would love to have confirmation of this and details of where I can get tickets ("Mean Fiddler" & "Ticketmaster" do not currently have details).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The two things he's most looking forward to are a cross walk photo on Abbey Road and seeing "Spamalot".

Really wanted to see them in Ithaca tonight..

When I went to the club's web site, I see they are an opener.

70 mile round trip for a 40 minute set, and no guarantee I can take my camera in.

Maybe next time.

I see a nice opening ( June 2 & 3 ) that would fit in nicely for Mountain Jam III

You are correct. It seems that show is no longer on schedule. I've noticed, in trying to keep up with this bunch, that their schedule changes....OFTEN!

Honeytribe marked by 'throwback' vibe
By: ALEC WOODEN
Posted: 4/16/07

As he settles in for an all-night haul from Illinois to South Carolina, Devon Allman gets a chuckle out of a question regarding exactly where he calls home.

Despite a St. Louis mailing address, the four walls of the tour bus are the constant reality for frontman of Honeytribe who boasts of a famous lineage.

"We've had the band out on the road for the last 17 months," Allman said, adding that the current bookings project another six months before the next substantial break.

Honeytribe is riding the wave of their 2006 Livewire Recording debut, "Torch," which provided fans with an ample sonic introduction to the band's vibe.

"The sound is definitely a throwback thing," said Allman. "About a third blues, third jam band and a third rock."

With the new album in hand, the band has been able to focus on what they love the most - the live show experience.

"It's what we look forward to all day, amidst all the B.S. and dealing with the particulars," said Allman. "That's our chance to turn off the world and have a good time."

Part of that good time is a routine that never seems to duplicate itself.

"Where most contemporary jam bands are mostly jam and don't really have songs, we're really song-oriented and then let the jams come out of those," said Allman.

Despite popular misconceptions, Allman's upbringing was mostly free of tour bus runs and long backstage nights with his father Gregg.

"I really had a normal suburban upbringing," he said. "But by the time I was about 13, the bug bit me and I wanted a guitar. I started singing when I was 17 because nobody else in the garage bands could muster up the nuts."

Don't be too fooled, though. Devon learned a lot from The Allman Brothers, and the lessons still inspire him today.

"I think the main inspiration that I can draw from them is to really just try and find the most organic common denominator of yourself," he said. "If you write, sing and play straight from the heart, you're always gonna have a pretty good path ahead of you."

our first order of business (as newly appointed Devonettes) is to figure out if he wears boxers or briefs.

can i get a volunteer?

remember, your findings WILL be subject to removal

Ahhh yes. The Vaylorettes...well, in all reality we Vaylorettes have very little to do with Vaylor...especially since the incident with his Vay groupie dad. But that's another story. hehehehehe

Devonette... LOL! Is that something like Raisinette...or a dinette set?
