I was all set to reply to the lame-os who left last night's show due to not liking Susan, and then poof. Oh well, glad that comparison to a Beatle spouse IS gone. Anyway, I could understand if someone only goes to one show per year and just want to hear the big hits, but this is the Beacon where I thought the cognocenti ruled. I've heard a lifetime's worth of Statesboros, Melissas, WPs, Midnight Riders and even Blue Skys. I'm going up for my first time on Thurs to hear new things, or at least new takes on old things, and that includes Susan. So Susan, please come on out early and often, and I promise not to leave, even if it's a cover. In fact Susan, run away w/ me; I mean what sort of future do you have being married to a musician?

My opinion, Susan played the solo of the weekend on Friday night. I can listen to her every so often but this solo was outstanding. Kudos to Susan for wailing out a masterpiece on Friday night.

I saw the "Yoko" thread. Not very cool. Anyway, I did not see Susan at the Beacon but did see her this past fall. Susan is part of the family and I - for one - love her voice and her soulful songs.

I **HOPE** I get lucky enough to see her with ABB some day.

I'll second that opinion, Haisija. She killed on Lost Lover Blues on Friday night, both on guitar and vocals. One of the most memorable songs of the weekend for me!

P.S. It was great to meet you at the HTN party!

Thank you Bob. , pleasure to meet you too .
Susan's solo...jaw on floor...didn't even have anything to do with how fashionable she looked.
I wanna add some kudos in Devon's basket also. You Don't Love Me..~well~
but ...the next tune, Devon put together a series of notes never played in a sequence I'd ever heard before. It was like he was struck by lightning on the second song he participated in. Fantastic squared.

OK.

Here's the Lang take on this timely and hot toipc.

I sat in the 5th row on Friday the 30th show.

This woman looks terrific and is ready to take it to another level folks - her geeeeetar playing was super hot too.

for awhile she was the show..............wow.

She took the stage by fire and storm and had them as her band......wow #2.

She made the whole band take on another personality..........

I think The Trucks Family Band has serious potential and I would use her original drummer to lay it down in that band.

Susan rocks. I totally enjoyed all that she has been doing and think it's about time the band was called the Allman Brothers and Sisters.

LOL. Ok, just one sista. But she is one hell of a sista.

She is easily one of the top 10 female vocalists on the live circuit today. I feel bad for anyone who doesn't get that.

I must also say, I've totally enjoyed Oteil's singing as well. I am always amazed at the sheer talent of all the people performing at any given ABB show.

While certainly Warren being sick gave the Friday show a different feel, I thought it was different in a good way. I was thrilled to hear the songs Susan did on the 30th and at the Irving Plaza show, and of course anytime she comes out and sings and plays for us, I am thrilled about it.

There are always a few people who will be negative. Can't do anything about that and they do have a right to their opinion.

Susan was definitely on fire on Friday. I read in an interview with her(maybe on a link from here) that she was practicing with Derek's band while Derek was doing his tour with Clapton--getting ready for their upcoming tour, a merger of their two bands. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they'll be bringing that show to the NY-metro area.

Part of the Beacon experience for me has always been the guest performers. And speculating on who may show up. I got two more shows to perhaps get a little Hubert Sumlin or Buddy Guy(He's playing the House of Blues in Atlantic City this weekend--so it could happen).

Susan being compared to YOKO? BWAAHAHAHA.......

Susan has her own light to touch hearts with. I wasn't planning on getting the Instant Live in Atlanta last year but I saw Susan up there before the show and I ran out to the IL table to cough up my $.... LOL!

(Sorry guys, I know I'll burn in hell for that.... )

That Hayseed knows what he's talking about! Her solo on that Bobby Blue Bland tune was like shrapnel wrapped in blood from the sacred heart! (OK, maybe I was stond at the time, but still!) Her solo was awesome, as was her beautiful singing with Warren's harmony on "Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever." I thought her turn in that first set overall was the BEST I've ever seen her, nd they neeeded her that night what with Warren's flu and all... She rose to the challenge like a freakin' champ ... even quoted the Munsters Theme in one solo, only to have her hubby try to cut her by quoting the Munsters Theme on slide wen his turn came up!

I'm with Hai, Susan rocked on Friday.

I was at that Atlanta show last year and was kicking myself after for not getting the IL. . Had to wait till Dec to get it. You made a good move regardless of your motives.

It is really difficult for me to imagine anyone not appreciating Susan Tedechi.
I had heard of Susan as early as '98 or so. Her renditiion of John Prine's "Angel from Montgomery"... is as real and Soulful as exists. Need Proof?...Pick up the DVD "Live at Austin City Limits".... Watch her, listen...she has a True feeling of where the Music is going and can keep up as well as she leads. How Lucky is Derek?... Imagine the Musical Soul that Lives in the Trucks Household.... nuff said.

Me, too...at the time, I was living in Colorado, and KBCO has always been a HUGE Susan supporter. I never saw her live out there, but have made up for it many times over back home here in New Jersey!

Lefty, I was at the entrance to the banquet room when Derek and Susan arrived Saturday, and as soon as I had the opportunity, I told her, "Those were some tasty blues licks you played last night. I really enjoyed that. Thanks!" She looked at me and smiled real big. Just one of many highlights for me that night.

Susan saved the day Friday night. Lets not forget Warren was barfing in the back and could barely perform. I also think she gets Derek a little fired up, which is always a good thing..
