I just got back to lil ol RI after a wonderful night at the Beacon. Stayed next door at the Beacon Hotel, killer close. Wanted to know how this show ranked against the others. Not to be elitest but like to hear from someone thats been to at least 3 other shows this run.

I sat literally dead center Orch row Q behind lthe light tech and soundboard, I have to confess, I fought hard but I did peek at the setlist,<blush> something I hate doing, but the curiosity got the best of me.

Seemed like a solid show, lots of sweet solo's by Warren and Derek, and 3 special guests, Susan Tedeschi, Bruce Katz, and ??? Vivano I should have wrote it down. The Liz Reed was my highlight, and loved the encore.

It was Jimmy Vivino, of the Fab Faux and the Max Weinberg 7.

You might find it interesting to read everyone's take on the show from the thread in the archived Anything Goes forum, I think the thread was called 'tonights set list so far' or something like that.

I really liked the first set. Out of the 10 shows I saw I'd probably put this first set 3rd behind 3/22 and 3/31. Loved the 2nd set opener of Stormy Monday and Stateboro, but it did fade on me a bit down the stretch. I like Susan and enjoy her songs with the band. I also like Liz Reed, but it was the 4th time I had heard it. Jaimoe's little drum solo after the regular drum feature made it kind of cool however. So maybe it was just me who lost some excitment for the final 1/3 of the show.

It was certainly a great show with plenty of stuff I will have good memories of. I haven't figured out how to rank the shows I attended. There are some really special things that I liked in the 2nd sets of other shows that might bump this one down some despite my love for the 1st set. I'd say this one wasn't the best, but not the worst either, probably somewhere in the middle - which isn't bad company.
