Great review Nebish!! It was my first time seeing Susan and I thought she was really good. She did a short solo that was pretty good as well. The jam on 44 Blues and Why Does Love Have to Be So Sad was incredible!!! We also thought we heard alittle bit of Franklin Tower in there.

On last night's show:

Been wanting to hear Stormy Monday and got it as 2nd set opener! I think the guest keyboard was Katz. Aside from great key work by both Katz and Gregg, Warren was impressive on this one as well.

YES, it's Bruce Katz on keys! Thanks for the ID and the killer review, Nebish!!

Im not a huge Susan fan, but I dont think any 2 song stretch could make any reasonable person walk out and never want to come back.
Word.

I bet they would have stayed had they paid for their tix.

I felt Susan's song was out of place on Friday. Agreed Warren was sick. Buppalo1 (Randall) said Derek and Warren came up with the setlist an hour before the show. Randall also said that the other guitar player Eric ? was there if Warren had to bail out quickly. So mostl likely by AWTNM Warren was very sick and the setlist changed on the fly.

Okay let me explain ... I gave my tickets for tonights show away to people who have never been to the ABB Beacon run .They were so amazed by the band, I kept getting cell phone calls to hear what was being played .. which made me really happy. I thought I did good.
After Statesboro Blues the phone went dead and I got another call from outside the Beacon ... What followed wasn't good. To sum up the conversation, she was called the Yoko Ono of the Allman Brothers Band.
Truth, I could certainly do without Susan as well, but this crew was pretty disgusted, walked out and won't go back, which I think is sad ... But hey more fans for Great Southern & Mule, I guess

They walked out and would not return? And missed all the rest of the great music? The "Yoko" of the Allman Bros.? Hardly. I think that might actually be a crime. This is one count of "Extreme Close Mindedness in the First Degree," and one count of "Negligent Intolerance."

all i can add is after seeing SUSAN's performance in general & her guitar playing on 3/30--i wouldn't mind more Susan---the Yoko comparison is simply not smart....

It's ridiculous to compare Susan to Yoko Ono but I can understand the sentiment that she has been a little too present at this run. I'm not saying I agree but I can understand it.

They should consider themselves lucky Joey Arkenstat was not a guest.

Don't think Twice was a horror last night. Susan sang that ..... She is no Yoko (my ears hurt thinking of her sing) but the band does not need her.
