Here is a cut & paste off the big ole' world wide web. It is from a record review of the one album by the Allen Collins Band:

"Allen Collins Band was an offshoot of Rossington Collins Band, which was an offshoot of the original southern rock masters Lynyrd Skynyrd. RCB had all of the surviving members of Skynyrd, except Artimus Pyle (drums). ACB has 5/7 of RCB, replacing Gary Rossington (guitar) and Dale Krantz Rossington (vocals) with Randall Hall and Jimmy Dougherty, respectively. Allen Collins (after becoming paralyzed) suggested Randall Hall as his replacent in the "post-crash" Skynyrd."

The Allen Collins Band started in 1983 and his disabling car crash was in 1986.

I had/have their only album. It has a dragster on the cover which unfortunately was the most memorable thing about that record. Allen while being a great guitarist and songwriter was probably the most tragic cat in Southern Rock.
