It does look like the same guy, but there appears to be a collar on the Suburu guy's shirt....at least it does on my screen.

My understanding is the police department is so undermaned and underfunded they just don't have the people to police the area.....you'd think it would be cheaper for them to support the fence effort!!!

Do we have any thoughts about helping out from GABBA? The big house foundation? HTN? It's an open forum.....please feel free to jump right in!

Let me run this thought by you.....I don't have a lot of details or amounts to make this work but you can let me know if you think this will fly. First, there are a few things being discussed that will constitute fundraising from more than one source. This is just one of them. In the plans for the fence, there are two stair cases at the end of the lot, one coming from each side in a half spiral that leads to a platform at the foot of the graves so fans can have a clear view of the stones and their inscriptions. In between the spirals there is a space where there a large urn will be placed for people to leave mementos they want to leave.

It's being discussed that there might be room for a plaque over the urn where names of contributors could be listed. My thinking is to have a silver, gold and platinum catagory to acknowledge the people who have either donated or raised money to meet the minimums set for each catagory. As I said, I don't know what amount each catagory would represent, however my question is, do you think people would want to donate to the fence fund in return for having their support listed on a plaque that would remain part of the site from here on out?

There, that's one idea.....next!

In The vein of Ann's thoughts...Buy a Brick is a program that some Major League team's have used to help fund their Stadium's. There will be a stone path leading to the stairs?
"The road goes on forever". Each brick can contain a donaters name, for a certain cost.
or along any brick wall that will be added that does not get thread on.
I don't know what companies do this, but that should not be hard to get. I'll make some some call's next week to look into it...unless someone know's already....?

'm not certain but I think the buy a brick thing was tossed around and discarded....I'll see what the thoughts are second time around. It has merit!

the buy a brick thingy is kinda what the big house is doin now. for 500$ you get a 4x8 engraved brick, for 1000$ you get a 8x8 brick, 2500$ gets you a 8x8 granite brick and so on.......................hell, i'd go for a cake sale, a car wash, or sellin bbq plates to raise the money! i ain't picky long as we get the money this place has GOT to be saved for future generations of real music lovers................

Whatever is decided for a fundraising idea or ideas, will have to be a little more reasonable than what the big house is doing....we're trying to raise about $25, 000 not a few million. I don't see bricks, if that's one of the plans, going for that much. I don't see the different levels for inclusion on a plaque should that be decided upon as being that much either.....at least not at a beginning level. I've always believed you can get a million people to part with one dollar easier than you can find one man to part with a million!

Are Candace, Brittney & Galadrille being too kind to the fans with a platform? Even with someplace to bring offerings, I'm still seeing idiots throw stuff on the graves....

I agree Ann.

Personally,I don't want any recognition for anything I contribute. I just want piece of mind knowing that when I go to Rose Hill,I won't encounter any vandalism. More importantly, and I know this is a hard thing to digest,I want to make sure that this sacred site will be protected long after Candace and Buford have the strength and energy to do it.
Let's face it,we're the generation that has to keep this legacy intact.

dave

is anybody ever told you how smart you is that zactly what i was tryin to say only i ain't did it as good as you did

For anyone who wants to make a private donation for the fence fund, you can do so now by sending your checks to the Rose Hill Foundation with the notation in the memo section : For the Allman-Oakley Fence Fund. And I'll try to get some information about the next fundraising project as soon as possible!

Have I told you all lately how wonderful this group is?!!!

it's usually on page 6 or so of hittin the note magazine. they's a little section that tell you what you get for your dollar amount donation.
if the bars for the fence don't cost a arm & a leg for each one, i'll be glad to buy one

Screw messing with these morons. Let's really fix the problem, get the fence built! I see a greenlight and it's time to hit the gas whenever Ann, the Oakleys, & Galadrille iron out the finer points of their plan....
