This will be the place I will be posting the photos of those individuals who feel the need to act like the rules don't include them.
As I can get the photos, I'll post them and try to keep them as current as possible.

Also, if you have something in Rose Hill that you are interested in seeing a photo of, ask. I'll try to get get it posted for you.

If you remember, in the "Little Friend from Dublin" thread I mentioned that someone had run off people trying to dislodge Duanes' headstone.

I'll start off with some photos of the condition they left the graves in.

This is Duanes'

Another angle

It's kinda hard to take good pictures when you're extremely pissed.

Nothing says respect like walking on white marble with muddy feet while trying to dislodge the headstone!

This kind of makes you sit back and rethink all the bad press Candace has received from from everyone. Even Bert Holman was quoted in the press as saying she was crazy. Of course, he doesn't spend any time cleaning the grave sites from the damage or spend any money doing it.

They have got to be Flucking Kidding! I'm glad Kim, Zebo, and I picked Rose Hill to make our Donation to in regards to our shirt and strap sales, and future endeavours.
But It pisses me off also that it is so obviously nessasary.

Thanks for the thread, Jerry, and your help at Rose Hill.
One thing: Both pics are of Duane's resting place.

You're right, and I'm sorry for that. I guess I was still pissed off.

News for today:
One of two women riding in a car with stickers for "Big Bend Ghost Trackers" went over the rope and became a little "vocal" when asked to leave the lot.
I feel that they are members of this group since the vanity tag on the car was very subject inclusive.
You can check out their website at http://www.bigbendghosttrackers.homestead.com
and read their rules at the "standards and protocol" section.
I'm waiting for a response to the e-mail I sent to their website to determine the next
course of action.

I just emailed the people at the link you posted. Here is what I wrote....perhaps if they get some additional letters it might drive home the point. However, if it will be a distraction to what Jerry is doing, then maybe not. What do you think Jerry?

I was informed today that one of your members did not follow protocol at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, GA. As a certified paranormal investigator, I know that respect for the site is one of the most important guidelines for researchers. This woman went over ropes that posted a no trespass sign surrounding the graves of Berry Oakley and Duane Allman. When requested to leave she became very vocal. It is people like this who give your organization a bad name and make it more difficult for legitimate researchers to gain access to certain sites. I hope you will find the party/parties responsible and make your displeasure known. Sincerely, Anathalee Sandlin

Attempting to "dislodge headstones"? Doesnt that qualify as a crime in Georgia?

What about private property rules regarding tresspassing?

I would like to make a suggestion from a law enforcement perspective: Jerry, anytime someone does something that is against Georgia law, a police report should be filed. This provides an ongoing record of events and provides law enforcement with a known pattern of issues at Rose Hill to where they can direct patrol operations and/or foot patrols to discourage this type of behavior. To put it bluntly, if no one ever files a report, as far as law enforcement is concerned, everything is just fine. Obviously, this isnt the case.

Are there any groups or organizations that would be willing to donate some time to "keep an eye" on the gravesite? I might also suggest contacting security companies and offer to trade onsite (here or elsewhere) advertisement or PR in exchange for guard services. Its worth a shot and all they can do is say no.

One of the first and foremost rules of paranormal investigation is to respect both this world and the other when doing your work. You don't ever charge willie nillie into a situation that disrespects either the living or the 'dead'. Unfortunately, as with other groups of people, some folks believe they have the right to charge in and do what they want. It's not the accepted practice of those of us who pursue our work seriously. Good for you, RR to have gone and posted.

did anyone reply to my cast-iron fence/multiple locks suggestion? There's a pic of Billy the Kid's gravesite with one. Seems to work just fine. They sawed through the lock on it, thus my suggestion of multiple locks, it'd take hours to go through three or four locks, or, have a lock that's covered with a steel plate so sawing it is not possible.

just a suggestion to help in what is becoming a huge nuisance.

Oh come on, you're not a nuisance.
I responded in the "Dublin" thread about that.
There have been four fences erected around the gravesite over the years. Three were of the temporary type, and were promptly torn down. Many times phone calls would follow with the content generally being "Who are you to keep us off the graves?"
Proof of who these people were isn't court room certain, but there is a pretty good idea of what group they belong to.
One fence was left around the gravesite, but the posts holding the fence were bent level to the ground and the bushes underneath the fence were trampled down.
The other fence was eight feet high chain link with concertina razor wire on top.
The Mayor of Macon, Mr. Jim Marshall, decided that it spoiled his view as he jogged through Rose Hill, and ordered city workers to remove the fence.
the fence was removed before daybreak on morning, without a notification of the day/time of the removal.
What is really nasty about this, is that Marshall had recently fired a city engineer for mistakenly doing work on what he thought was city property, but was privately owned.

Here is the email response I received from the ghost hunters. As I said, everyone has a 'reason'. This doesn't at all reflect the people I know. Read for yourself:

Dear Ann
Thank you for your interest in Big Bend Ghost Trackers and our standards . As an adult I am sure you are aware every situation has a flip side. Please read the following letter that has been sent to the Mayor of Macon ,The District Attorney of Bibb County as well as the Police Chief. I DID NOTHING WRONG. However my personal attorney who I happen to be the mother of is indeed looking into filing harassment charges against these in individuals.
Thank you

To: Honorable Mayor Ellis

From: Betty Davis

Ref: Recent visit to your city

Dear Sir:

I and a lady friend were guests in your city this past
weekend. We were their to take in the festivities of
the Cherry Blossom Festival as well as doing some
research at Rose Hill Cemetery. In doing genealogy
research the name Temperance West had surfaced and I
was to discover that she had been a victim of the
Woolfolk crime in 1887, thus I was hoping to collect
some additional info that might be on her stone at
Rose Hill Cemetery.

Unfortunately, this trip to Rose Hill put a serious
damper to our visit to Macon, afterwards fearing for
our well being we spent the remainder of our visit in
our motel room. Quiet honestly I am not sure if I
would feel safe ever returning to your city.

While at the cemetery and searching for the Woolfolk
grave site, we were in the area on Carnation Ridge,
which was near the Forest Hill section that we were
looking for. We had noted from the map at the entrance
of the cemetery the Duane Allman grave was in
Carnation Ridge. We visited the grave site of the
Allman Brothers and I was leaning over a bush/shrub at
the front side of the grave trying to read the words
on the epitaph at the foot of the grave.
While doing so I later realized having my camera on a
strap on my wrist had fell off and into the
bush/scrub. I stepped over the rope in the grave plot
to retrieve my camera (as any other person would have
done) and all of a sudden as I was leaning up Three
(3) individuals two (2 ) males and (1 ) female
came over a hill Commando style with the leader of the
pack wearing a camouflage jacket.

These individuals were running toward me screaming and
shooting vulgarities with the leader of the pack
having a silver object in is hand pointing it at me!
All I could think of was ďOh my God these are crazed
lunatics that are going to abduct, rape and kill me.
ďTo be frank with you sir the out come of this
scenario could have been much more serious if this
would of happen to someone carrying a weapon because
all I saw was something silver pointing at me as these
individuals were running and screaming toward me and
all I could think of was it was a gun. I kept
screaming and holding up my camera saying that all I
was doing was picking up my camera that I had dropped.
The main leader of the pack I discovered as he got
closer to me was holding a camera and was taking a
series of pictures of me while screaming in my face
that he was having be arrested. I then run to my car
that was parked a distance away and he then ran over
got in his truck. A red truck and attempted to run my
car down in the cemetery. Then a white truck emerged
with the other male and the female in it writing down
my car tag number while screaming verbal threats.

Apparently these people are relatives or crazed fans
of the Allmanís. This was 3:30 in the afternoon. I am
a 53 year old woman I weigh 128 pounds I certainly was
not dressed or appeared to be a threat to any one or
any thing. I am a white collar professional. I am
social services cord. If this grave is such a high
profile one I suggest these bunch of radicals hire
armed security to protect it. I myself have a
deceased brother and I certainly would not want any
one trampling or desecrating his grave which I
certainly DID NOT this one!! However, if someone
dropped an expensive item in his grave plot and
retrieved it I certainly I would not go ballistic!!
One other thing!! I am NOT even a fan of the Allman
Brothers and could not honestly tell you even one song
that they ever recorded!

After leaving the cemetery I attempted to locate a
police officer, I finally located a Lt. Parker at
about 4:10 p.m. and explained to him what had took
place in the cemetery. I showed him the paperwork that
I had for my purpose of being in the cemetery to start
with. Lt. Parker explained to me that ďall sorts of
people visited that particular grave and just blew it
off ďI explained to him that I felt threaten by these
radicals. They had my picture, my car description as
well as my tag number. My thoughts were what if they
are just a small fraction of a larger bunch of
radicals and will try to hunt me down. He told me he
felt that I was safe and to enjoy the rest of our stay
in Macon. (I left with the feeling this event occurs
often at this cemetery) Lt. Parker was very polite
but it really did not relieve my anxiety. I would of
felt better perhaps if an officer would have went to
the cemetery and if these individuals were still
there to speak with them but that was not the case .

My friend and I instead returned to our motel parking
the car in an area where it could not readily be seen
and stayed put the remainder of the weekend missing
all of the festival festivities.

I am bringing this matter to you attention so it can
be looked into and dealt with in hopes that the next
person that visits the cemetery will not be subjected
to the ordeal that I was forced to go through.

Events such as this will surely leave others with a
bad taste in there mouth for your city and will not
make future plans to visit it. Itís true a few bad
apples can spoil it for every one. I myself being
back in Florida tonight I am not sure how safe I am
here with these radicals having my information. Itís a
shame for the next while I will be forced to look over
my shoulder just because I choose to visit Macon.
This should not be happening to me or anyone else.

Again Sir, I hope you will rectify this situation at
the cemetery. These radicals are going to cause
someone to hurt them or get themselves hurt or worst.
What
if a heart patient would visit and accidentally step
the wrong way or drop something and were subjected to
the treatment that I experienced. The out come could
be fatal. Itís really a scary and serious situation.

I do appreciate you looking into this and hope for a
suitable outcome . Thank you.

Respectfully,
Betty Davis

I told you they marketed the graves as a tourist attraction!

If you're a visitor, don't ask
By Ed Grisamore
TELEGRAPH STAFF COLUMNIST
Daily Gris | Ed Grisamore's blog
If you are a visitor to our city this week, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 25th annual Cherry Blossom Festival.

Yes, we really do have 300,000 beautiful Yoshino cherry trees. The figure I use is 299,638, which is roughly the size of our City Council. We didn't actually go around and count all the trees, but we've got an intern working on it.

We love this time of year. It is truly one of the great pleasures of living here. We walk with a little more bounce in our step. We let our hair down and eat pink pancakes on Saturday mornings.

We promise you those stubborn blossoms are going to be hopping and popping very soon. If you've never seen them, they come with a guarantee to take your breath away.

Macon really is a friendly town, and we've done our best to hide all the mean folks, at least until the end of March.

So feel free to stop and ask us anything. We'll be glad to point out some of our major tourist attractions , like Duane Allman's grave and the cannonball in the foyer at the top of Mulberry Street.

Just don't ask us why The Medical Center is located on Hemlock Street. Or why "weiner" is misspelled on the Nu-Way sign. Don't ask us why you have to travel to the upper end of Cherry Street to see a cherry tree. Or if we've ever wondered if the festival's annual balloon glow contributes to "glow-bal" warming.

And please don't ask us to explain why we have part of a street named after Pope Pius IX (Pio Nono Avenue), and the other part of the road (Pierce Avenue) named after George Pierce, a Methodist bishop and the first president of Wesleyan College. To further confuse/amuse us, the street name changes at the intersection where you'll find Vineville Baptist Church.

If puzzled looks are what you're after, just stroll down New Street (which is actually very old) and ask a few of the locals to name a statue in the city where the subject is sitting down.

You're likely to get 37 votes for Otis Redding down at Gateway Park. There will be at least 14 votes for Jesse Mercer over in the center of the university's campus, and the other 569 votes for the clown on the bench over at the Ronald McDonald House.

If you're a visitor from anywhere north of, say, Chattanooga, Tenn., please don't make fun of the way we talk. It's a whole different Scrabble board down here.

Even three-letter words are pronounced as two syllables. So, if you don't mind, please tell that Giuliani fellow to slow down when he's talking.

If your home address and ZIP code are, as we affectionately call it, "Notfromaroundhere," you're probably wondering about our diet, too. Yes, it's true we consider barbecue one of the five basic food groups. We also believe eating grits will add years to your life.

But there's more. We love to fry everything, even our tomatoes. And what we don't fry we cook all day in a big pot and stir in some ham hocks. It doesn't do much for our cholesterol count but at least we die happy.

Finally, if you see guys walking around this week wearing pink shirts, pink ties and pink hats, please don't question their manhood. It has taken 25 years to get them this far with the dress code. Every male wardrobe in Macon is given a free pass for 10 days.

Enjoy the festival. Take off your shoes and stay a while. Visit our museums. Eat in our restaurants. Spend your hard-earned money. (Lord knows, we could use the revenue.)

And ask us anything.

Just keep in mind there are some things we can't explain.

There are numerous case files on Rose Hill, but every time the city is asked about more patrols, the old spector of "budgetary constraints" comes up.
With the campaing of Macon being the "Song and Soul of the South" with the emphasis on it's music heritage, the CVB uses the gravesite on it's webpage as an attraction, Wiki also lists Rose Hill as an attraction, the Cherry Blossom Festival lists it in the same manner,
you would think the city would place security in the area at least during high traffic times.
I really don't think it would hurt much that if an officer in that precinct had some paperwork to do, he could park in Rose Hill while doing it.

Do you have access to any of the photos of the woman 'trying to retrieve her camera' who was so rudely accosted that her little self had to go to the police? You know....the mama of the lawyer and the one who uses bad grammer.

This woman was in between the graves when first spotted and was photographed on the wrong side of the ropes. I'm certain this isn't the first time she used the 'I dropped my camera' line. I've heard the entire story and I want to make it perfectly clear that most paranormal researchers do not behave in this manner. What a mess.

You're right....there needs to be a fence with a lock that will solve the problem and yet be fan friendly. AND all the people who promote the sites for their own agendas need to step up and fork over a few dollars to help build it. That includes the Macon Tourism boards, the city of Macon, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Big House Foundation. At the very least, they could pay to have someone watch over the sites during scheduled events such as fundraisers and otehr functions. They're making money off the promotion of the graves....it's time some of them stepped up and assumed a share of the upkeep!!!
