Good one! Craig Fuller was great with The Feat. Now they are kinda, uhh, not as good.

Big Feat fan here. I have to agree with the above posts. After Lowell, Craig Fuller brought that "Brash" sound back to Little Feat. When he left... I lost interest. Sean is a good singer, but I hear the Feat with a Male voice.

Cause there's a fat man in the bathtub....

I have seem Feat several times through the years, with Lowell George, with Craig Fuller and with Shaun Murphy. Of course, Feat with Lowell George is my favorite, but people shouldn't "diss" Shaun. She's a helluva of a singer, and Feat is still one of the best bands out there touring.

I agree with the people that like Craig Fuller. He was a great replacement for Lowell George and the band just isn't the same with Shaun and Paul taking more vocals.

Even so, they're still a good live band. I saw them last year and had a great time.

I 100% agree with this. Feat are still great.

I've seen them twice with Shaun Murphy. I was skeptical at first, but the show was pretty outstanding. She actually sang lead on only 2 songs or so. Pretty much just provided great harmonies. The band jammed masterfully and didn't seem to feel obligated to let her have the spotlight really.
Saw them just a couple of months ago without Shaun, as she was on tour wi/ Bob Seger. Her vox were somewhat missed, as Bill and Fred had to take some lead vocals (kinda brutal). However the band jammed their asses off.
Definitely a band worth seeing live when they come to your town.

Iv'e seen Little Feat about six times in the past decade, most recently in the summer of '05 at Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Whatever the lineup has been, they have been great every time I have seen them. I was never a big fan of this band until my friend took me to see them for the first time, probably about eight years ago, so I really don't know the personel of the band. I do know that they sounded great every time I've seen them and people were whooping it up all over the place. I love that they shake up the setlists a lot also. If you get the chance go see them !!!

Peace

Pete

Me too, Mule75.

My first time with Shaun was a few years ago, and it was a so-so show. So, I was skeptical going to another Feat show last summer, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable and almost completely quite good.

She's not the world's greatest solo singer--she kinda overdid it on her spotlight blues number--but she's pretty good on those harmonies and fits in well.

I'd definitely make an effort to see them again this year. Not yet scheduled to play real close (7-hour round trip is the best), and no tour name seen:

I'd have to agree with what appears to be the sentiment here: Shaun Murphy can really sing, and she's great with harmonies--but they need a dominant alpha male. And Craig was definitely that, in lieu of Lowell. Any plans for a new frontman/instrumentalist? I think John Mayer might be pretty good in that band. Good player, good singer.

They'd better not! Horace, I'd have to stop following them again.

I think Little Feat has done quite well with Shaun, as she had the job for several years now (since the 90s), and I don't think the guys in the band think of themselves as "beta" looking for an "alpha" to lead. Truth is sometimes "dominant alpha males" in bands can cause lots of problems for the rest of the band (a good example - well we won't go there)

NO! NO! NO!........talk about a buzz killer. They are doing great as they are. Paul and Fred handle the guitar work just fine. They wouldn't be the Feat anymore if Mayer was there.

Way I look at it is this, Feat been around with most of the orginal players for 30+ years, so I don't think they need any advice on what they should do. Seems to me they done a pretty good job over all these years. Of course, I'm live in an area that been into the Feat since the "get go" (Washington/Baltimore area). One more thing about the Feat, seems like every time they play the area, we're "blessed" with the talents of Ron Holloway sitting in with the band. Last time I saw the band, he "sat in" pretty much the whole show. SWEET!!!

Dime has a couple shows from this year available for DL.

Best part is, they feature Craig Fuller on vocals, Shaun is touring with Bob Seger.

Have to agree , I have seen them live 4 times since '03 and they were great each time , Fred is great and I dig it when he pulls out the trumpet .
