Beck's thank you for the post. This how I like to remember Steely Dan although Becker and Fagen were great regardless of who they surrounded themselves with. I distinctly remember buying Can't Buy A Thrill for no other reason than I liked the artwork. That record brings back so many good memories.

Love Steely Dan!!! Saw them last summer and they put on an excellent show. And Donald Fagen is a trip! He has such a wicked, warped sense of humor I can't help but love him. Just a little taste from their site...

true but that original band of baxter, diaz, hodder, becker and fagen had a certain chemistry that they never seemed to catch again after "pretzel logic". everything after that seemed to have a certain "sterileness" to it as if it was too precise - the feel was there but the "feeling" wasn't.
