For this, I'm not gonna count albums like South Saturn Delta or First Rays, or any of the Dagger Records releases...nothing like that. Just albums that were during his life...which isn't much, but I'm curious to see which one people like more.

Me, it's Electric Ladyland...I think that's one of the greatest guitar albums ever. It used to be Are You Experienced? but I've been listening to the Electric Ladyland Sessions and the album lately and it's just too good. Burning of the Midnight Lamp is such a great song.

"Are You Experienced?" has gotta be in my top 3 albums of all time. The other ones are great too, but it's not really much of a contest for me.

That's exactly how I used to feel. I still love AYE?. Absolutely love it...but ELL is a work of art. It's fantastic. The Voodoo Chile is a great track...very loose blues jamming. Rainy Day is one of my favorite, if not favorite, studio tracks ever. It realy gives that feeling of being in a hot, smoke filled, jazz club.

I think AYE? is great an it's one of my favorite albums. 1968 is my favorite Hendrix year for live performances and studio tracks. My all time favorite tour though is Januar 1969.

:blues doesn't count...I said only during his life. South Saturn Delta, :blues, Dagger Records releases, etc. are all posthumous releases

Looks like ELL has the slight advantage so far.

The vocal performance on Midnight Lamp is really really good.

I love Electric Ladyland as an album, but I really like what the Band of Gypsys were doing. Without a real studio album from the band of gypsys, I'd say Electric Ladyland - they should release that on super audio or deluxe edition.

In August 1970, just two weeks prior to his death Reprise records released the performances from the Monterey International Pop Festival LP, featuring one side of Otis Redding and one side of Hendrix. This album contains highlights from Hendrix's most important gig, the one that made him an international star. Just for that alone, this is the album that I treasure the most. I dont' think it has ever been released on CD.

The Cry of Love I really like what Jimi was doing just before he died...
Some of the songs were not finished yet, but it was so pure, and he was making bold statements about politics, and abortion in Belly Button Window.
